Therapy Gardens brings meaningful presentations, workshops, and hands-on experiences directly to your community, using food, hobbies, and other interests. The organization works with hundreds of communities—from libraries and senior centers to company wellness groups, living communities, and schools.

Adult Summer Reading Challenge
June 13 through August 15

Let’s play Reading Bingo. Track your reading progress for a chance to win a prize. The first-place winner receives a 6" Kindle, and the second-place and third-place winners each receive a $30 gift card to Jabberwocky Bookshop.

Use the online form to view the bingo card and submit what you’ve read. Each submission enters you into the raffle (even if you don’t hit bingo); however, you can only submit one item per category.

FOL Member Vote + Appreciation Gathering

Dear FOL Members and Volunteers,

The Board of Directors of the Friends of the Newburyport Public Library (FOL) invites all members to a Special Meeting on Wednesday, June 24, in the Library Program Room to review and vote on the proposed revisions to the FOL Articles of Incorporation and Bylaws. Your participation is instrumental as we work to ensure our governance structure continues to support the mission and success of the FOL.

Before the Special Meeting, we are hosting a Member and Volunteer Appreciation Gathering to recognize and thank all who contribute their time and energy to support our work. We hope you will join us for this opportunity to connect and celebrate the shared appreciation and commitment to our community.

Fireflies brightening up fields and meadows are a summertime favorite, but did you know these dancing beetle lights are species-specific, and you can learn their flash patterns? Learn how and why fireflies light up and how to identify them by their flash patterns. You’ll also learn more about an array of environmental issues they help inform us about, including climate change, habitat loss, light pollution, and pollinator protection.

About the Presenter:
Nicaela Haig is a Senior Teacher Naturalist with Mass Audubon based out of Pleasant Valley Wildlife Sanctuary in Lenox. Nicaela's areas of deep interest include land use history, the human-wildlife interface, landscaping for wildlife, and invertebrate ecology.

Anchor Into Summer: A Coastal Reset for Body + Mind

Ease into summer with this calming, all-levels wellness experience designed to help you reset your body and mind.

In this gentle, beginner-friendly session, you’ll be guided through simple movement, breathwork, and a short meditation inspired by the rhythm of the ocean. The focus is on releasing tension, settling your nervous system, and creating a sense of steadiness from within.

Registration is recommended to ensure we have enough handouts, but walk-ins are also welcome. Participants are encouraged to bring their own yoga mats and other supplies.

About the Presenter:
Mardi Chadwick-Balcom is an attorney, certified yoga teacher, somatic wellness coach, and founder of Anchor + Rise Yoga in Amesbury, MA.
