Friends of Newburyport Trees FoNT is a non-profit organization dedicated to preserving and protecting the urban forest in the City In 2016, FoNT completed several city-wide projects.

Friends of Newburyport Trees (FoNT) is a 501(c)(3) charitable organization run by a volunteer board of directors. In collaboration with the Newburyport Tree Commission and Department of Public Services, FoNT works to keep Newburyport green and beautiful for future generations. Currently FoNT is focusing its efforts on gateway locations - the ways and streets that lead into Newburyport, which are v

iewed and enjoyed by residents and visitors alike. In the spring, the first phase of a multi-phase project will begin with a 20 tree planting on High Street.* Recognized since 1984 by the National Registry of Historic Places, High Street has over 100 available street tree sites. FoNT plans to purchase, plant, and care for trees in every available site along the 2.3 miles of this important way. Visit http://branchingoutinnewburyport.blogspot.com to see what we accomplished.
