Yesterday our members responded to a total of 13 calls for service.

One of those calls was for a reported mulch fire. Upon arrival, units found that the homeowner had already extinguished the fire using a garden hose.

Following the severe storms that moved through our area, our department responded to 12 storm related incidents throughout the district. We had three apparatus, our Brush Truck, and all available Fire Police personnel operating throughout the night to assist our community.

The department was placed on storm standby and remained staffed until approximately 11:30 PM, when the standby was lifted. Despite that, our members continued responding to storm related calls into the morning hours.

We would like to thank our dedicated volunteers for their commitment and our residents for their patience as crews worked to address storm damage and ensure public safety.

At approximately 9:35 PM last night we were dispatched for mutual aid to The Plattekill Fire Department with our tanker for a 3rd alarm Structure fire .

Upon arrival, our members assisted with tanker shuttle operations alongside numerous surrounding departments to provide a continuous water supply to the scene.

At 10:24 PM, we were requested to provide additional mutual aid with an engine to establish a fill site at Magnanini Winery, ensuring tankers could quickly refill and return to operations.

All our units cleared the scene and returned to service at approximately 12:54 AM.

As we gather with family and friends this Memorial Day, let us never forget the true meaning behind today.

Memorial Day is not just a day off from work or school it is a day of remembrance for the courageous men and women who gave their lives defending our country and our freedoms.

Their sacrifice allows us to live the lives we do today. Please join us in taking a moment to honor and remember our nation’s fallen heroes. Let us never forget . Happy Memorial Day 🇺🇸

Our thoughts and prayers are with the family of 24 year old veteran of Boston Rescue 2 firefighter Robert “BK” Kilduff, who tragically was killed in the line of duty last night at a 3 alarm fire.

We would like to thank the Stewart ANGB Fire Department for inviting us to participate in an Aircraft Rescue and Firefighting (ARFF) live burn training. Our firefighters had lots of fun and learned valuable information and skills. We would also like to thank the SANG public affairs team that were able to document the training and get these amazing photos of our firefighters. We’ll be back next year.
