The Council of Industry The Council of Industry has been the manufacturer’s association of the Hudson Valley since 1910.

The Council of Industry is the Hudson Valley’s manufacturers’ association, supporting local manufacturers with resources, connections, workforce development, operational support, technology, and expertise to help them grow and compete. We are a privately funded not-for-profit organization, whose mission is to promote the success of our member firms and their employees, and through them contribute to the success of the Hudson Valley Community.

Celebrating National Manufacturing Month means recognizing the people, partnerships, and opportunities that make manufacturing such an important part of the Hudson Valley.

Last week, Tom Sipos brought Hudson Valley Focus LIVE to Newburgh Enlarged City School District's brand-new Career and Technical Education Center for a live broadcast featuring students, teachers, and local manufacturing leaders. It was an opportunity to highlight the connection between what students are learning today and the careers they can pursue in our region’s manufacturing community.

Congratulations to the more than 15 participants from over 5 Hudson Valley manufacturing companies who completed our Lean Six Sigma: Yellow Belt training this week!

Over three days, participants learned from one another, tackled challenges from their own workplaces, and developed practical approaches to improving processes. They return to their companies with new tools to support their teams and contribute to continuous improvement.

We appreciate the time and effort these participants, and the companies supporting them, have invested in strengthening our region’s manufacturing workforce. Thank you to Dutchess Community College and Rochester Institute of Technology instructor Vinnie Buonomo for partnering with us to make this training possible!

A special thank you to our presenters from the Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA) for sharing valuable insights on cybersecurity and physical security in manufacturing. The presentation highlighted the importance of protecting manufacturing facilities, identifying potential threats, and strengthening security measures to keep operations and employees safe.
