Walker Valley Community Enhancement Committee

Walker Valley Community Enhancement Committee Community group of volunteer area residents who come together to work on projects that enhance the area we live in.

The community enhancement committee was established from the urging of Town Supervisor John Valk Jr. He wanted a community minded group that would be responsible for projects that would 'enhance' the area and benefit those who live, work, play and visit the Town of Shawangunk. The Walker Valley CEC was established in Oct. of 2007 and all area residents were encouraged to join and participate in do

ing what is deemed best for 'The Valley'. Over the years we have established a wonderful group of regular volunteer members who tackle issues year round and 'helper' volunteers who come to help whenever asked. We appreciate any assistance - even if it is for a one time event. We take every suggestion seriously and if there is a way - we will find it! Not all suggestions can become a reality because of logistics, but we do try our best to accommodate the bulk of requests. We also work with other organizations within our area to reach mutually acceptable goals. If you would like to be part of this wonderful group please leave a message and someone will get back to you. Most of the flower barrels along Route 52 have been removed due to age, deterioration or inflicted damage. Would you like them to be replaced? If you do, we would need waterers for the season which would be at least three times a week. Let me know so we can plan accordingly. TYIA🥀🪻🌻🌺

Saturday
Division One: 8am-11:30am
Division Two: Noon-3:30pm
Division Three: 4pm-7:30pm
Sunday
Division One: 10am-1:30pm
No need to pack food we will have food available both Saturday and Sunday for purchase - breakfast sandwiches, burgers, dogs, chicken patty, fries, soup, chili, chips, and hot cocoa.

Notice from the Town of Shawangunk:

Governor Hochul has declared a State of Emergency for all of New York State including the Town of Shawangunk for the upcoming winter storm. With that in mind, we ask the following of Town Residents:

For the duration of the storm, Town residents are asked to park
their vehicles off of public roadways, avoid non-essential travel, and keep all roadways clear of garbage cans and other personal items so that our plow drivers can keep roads passable for emergency vehicles.

Additionally, residents are asked to have patience while our hardworking highway department workers plow and maintain the roads. There may be times when visibility precludes our plow operators from driving, at which point they are instructed to pull over and wait for conditions to improve.

Thank you for helping to ensure we all stay safe during this winter storm.
