Thank you to Federal Home Loan Bank of New York and FHLBNY member Heritage Financial Credit Union for selecting Habitat Newburgh as a recipient of a Small Business Recovery Grant! πŸ™Œ

This kind of investment in our work strengthens our ability to build alongside hard-working families and make affordable homeownership real for more people in our community. We're honored β€” and we're putting it to work. 🏠

Meet Ana Tranchina.

She's a Mortgage Loan Officer at Walden Savings Bank who's been working alongside Habitat Greater Newburgh to make sure every future homeowner is ready for what comes next.

Ana knows that the key to homeownership starts long before closing day. πŸ”‘

Ana leads homeownership readiness workshops that walk prospective home buyers through what building financial strength really looks like and she says the moments she carries with her most are when she sees someone in class finally "get it."

Ana calls the whole experience "wonderful" and "humbling" and we call her an essential part of how Habitat Newburgh's mission moves forward.

Thank you, Ana for your commitment to the Habitat mission and the families of Greater Newburgh.

We had another successful Board Retreat as we continue planning for the future of Habitat Greater Newburgh!

The future is bright, and we are incredibly grateful for the commitment, leadership, and support of our Board. Their dedication helps ensure we can continue building homes, communities, and hope throughout Greater Newburgh.

Together, our Board of Directors spent time reviewing and planning for our FY2027 budget, refining our five-year strategic plan, and discussing the opportunities ahead for our organization and the families we serve.

Stay tuned! We look forward to sharing our new five-year strategic plan soon! 🏑✨

Please help us welcome Eblijah Arroyo to the Habitat Newburgh team! πŸ™Œ

Eblijah joins us as Finance Director, bringing 18 years of upstate New York life to the role (a Queens kid who, by his own account, happily traded subway delays for the Hudson Valley πŸš‡βž‘οΈπŸ‘). When he's not tracking every single penny, you'll find him coaching youth football and basketball β€” or running the youth track club he founded, because apparently one sport at a time wasn't enough. πŸ˜„

His motto says it all: "If I don't help, who will?"

We couldn't have said it better ourselves. Welcome, Eblijah β€” we're excited for everything we'll build together.

Drop a welcome in the comments! πŸ‘‡

Today is for everyone who has ever shown up for a young person.

Father's Day looks different in every family. But the people who provide, protect, and invest in the next generation β€” whatever their role β€” share something in common.

They know stability starts at home. And they'll do whatever it takes to provide it.

Happy Father's Day from our Habitat family to yours.

Dr. Opal Lee calls herself the Grandmother of Juneteenth. We call her an inspiration.

Dr. Lee spent decades fighting to make Juneteenth a national holiday. Starting at age 89, she walked 2.5 miles every year to symbolize the 2.5 years it took for enslaved people in Texas to learn they were free. In 2021, at 94, she presided over the ceremony where Juneteenth was signed into federal law.

Dr. Lee is also a reminder that building a more equitable world takes showing up β€” year after year, mile after mile. Let’s remember to show up for one another.

Great teamwork is built around shared purpose. Bring your team out to move the Habitat mission forward.

When a group spends a day building with Habitat in [add service area], they're not just checking a volunteer box. They're doing meaningful work alongside people who care about the same community they live and work in.

That kind of shared experience builds teams in ways that a conference room never could. πŸ’™

After decades of serving this community, Miller Lumber in Middletown is closing their doors, but they're leaving a legacy of impact!

As George, Dave, and Karen Miller head into a well-earned retirement, they chose to donate the remaining contents of their store to Habitat for Humanity of Greater Newburgh.

The lumber and supplies will now support our active construction work right here in the Greater Newburgh area. It's a final chapter that says a lot about who they are.

Thank you, George, Dave, and Karen. What a way to leave a legacy in our community.
