Grit Gallery and Keara Neilsen Present
Newburgh Now: A Retrospective on the City of Newburgh’s Street Artists.
Call for artists who have experience in the contemporary street art and city artists of Newburgh-
We are looking to host a variety of artists working with themes pertaining to city life and the
street culture within it. Artwork reflective on your here and now. Newburgh has both a long
rooted and emerging collective of artists who are both confronted and influenced by the places
we share in city living. Our most shared and upfront evidence is the always present Graffiti and
street artworks.
Grit Gallery will be holding a gallery exhibit of artists who pronounce and represent our
experience in both living in urban Newburgh and the experience of working within the growing
artist body in street art. These are independent artists’ whose work forefront cultural changes,
reflecting the city’s most modern and ever-changing persona. Writers, fashion designers,
shoe-wear designers, skate artists, musicians/songwriters, photographers, painters, and
creators in the city; What does the city mean to you in its current day? We as a community are
currently facing extremely transformative systems along with an influx in new residents– Let us
show what has made us a true Newburgh community thus far.
