Flatiron Institute

Flatiron Institute The Flatiron Institute is the in-house research division of the Simons Foundation. Basic science drives discovery.

We advance scientific research through computational methods and software tools. Through grantmaking, research and public engagement, we provide sustained support to scientists whose inquiry into the phenomena of our world lead to breakthroughs in knowledge. The Simons Foundation was established by Jim and Marilyn Simons in 1994 to advance mathematics and basic science research.
