Sickle Cell Thalassemia Patients Network

Sickle Cell Thalassemia Patients Network (SCTPN) by adults living with sickle cell disease, thalassemia, and other hemoglobin disorders.

Sickle Cell Thalassemia Patients Network (SCTPN) was incorporated in 1992 as a volunteer, community-based organization (CBO). Their desire was tto serve the larger community by providing a face and a voice for these under represented health issues. SCTPN provides scholarships to young adults with SCD to assist them with college expenses. We also provide public education programs to help increase a

wareness and knowledge of hemoglobin disorders. We serve as advocates/liaisons for families and healthcare professionals at hospitals, throughout the New York Tri-State area, that provide comprehensive care for sickle cell disease and coordinate referrals to needed services. SCTPN is committed to helping diminish the negative social, psychological, and economic impact of these debilitative disorders on our community.

SCTPN coordinates with hospital admin, doctors and nurses to improve care standards; advocates for govt. agencies to increase funding for comprehensive treatment programs; provides referrals to health/social services, produces and disseminates public education material, provides direct support to patients and families, and is engaged with pharmaceutical research towards a cure.

We are caring for a community of marginalized people facing life with a congenital blood disorder, and pushing for institutional and political change. 🖤❤️ All donations go directly toward programs. Sickle Cell patients are your neighbors, coworkers, friends, strangers passing on the street. Thank you for supporting us, and for recognizing the importance of the fight against sickle cell.
