Today, August 21, marks the 75th birthday of our Supreme Patriarch and Catholicos of All Armenians, His Holiness Karekin II.

As pontiff of the worldwide Armenian Church for the past 27 years, he has preserved, restored, and built up our institutional structures. He has fed our people across the globe spiritually; and in times of trial has lifted up the consciousness of our national solidarity.

Catholicos Karekin II plays a unique role for Armenian Christians around the world: encouraging us in our achievements, consoling us in our sorrow, and uniting us in a higher purpose and aspiration. We congratulate our Catholicos today, and pray for him always.

May our Lord bless you, Vehapar Der. May He continue to strengthen your ministry, and grant you long years of health to lead our people through this critical time, and into a bright and peaceful future.

On the Feast of the Assumption of the Holy Mother of God, we are reminded that our Creator is not distant from everyday existence. Our work, our routines, and our simple pleasures are sanctified and embraced by God.

Just as Christ honored his mother by bringing her into Heaven body and soul, bonds of love and the fullness of our lived experiences are granted a spark of the divine.

We bless grapes as an extension of Christ's grace and abundance, a sweet harvest to be shared with those we hold dear.

Wishing everyone a blessed Feast Day.

Last Wednesday evening, Bishop Mesrop Parsamyan joined the young people of Session B of the High School Summer Conference at St. Nersess Armenian Seminary for an evening of conversation, fellowship, and reflection.

The gathering offered a meaningful opportunity to connect with our youth, hear their perspectives, and reflect together on faith and the role it plays in their everyday lives.

Take a look at the highlight pictures from the Bishop's visit.

Bishop Mesrop Parsamyan visited the Armenian Church of Cape Cod this past weekend, where he celebrated the Divine Liturgy and ordained Michael Kasparian to the sacred order of the diaconate.

The ordination marked a joyful milestone not only for Deacon Michael and his family, but also for the growing Armenian community on Cape Cod and the Eastern Diocese. His commitment to serving the Holy Altar is a testament to the continued growth and vitality of the Church's ministry in the region.

We congratulate Deacon Michael, his wife Daria, their daughters, and their entire family. We also express our sincere gratitude to the visiting pastor, the Rev. Fr. Khachadour Kesablyan, as well as the parish leadership and faithful of the Armenian Church of Cape Cod for their warm hospitality and steadfast dedication to the life of the Church.

May God bless Deacon Michael as he begins this sacred ministry, and may the Armenian Church of Cape Cod continue to flourish for generations to come.

A sacred chapter comes to a close as a new one begins.

Join us on Sunday, August 30, for the final Divine Liturgy at St. Vartan Armenian Cathedral before its comprehensive interior restoration.
Together with His Grace Bishop Mesrop Parsamyan, we will give thanks for the generations who have worshipped within these walls, pray for the work ahead, and begin the countdown to the Cathedral’s grand reopening at Easter 2028, when its transformed doors will once again welcome the faithful.
Don’t miss the opportunity to be part of this historic Badarak and witness the beginning of a new chapter in the life of our beloved Cathedral.
Following Badarak, all are invited to a special fellowship hour featuring a musical program by violinist Sami Merdinian.

This past Sunday, His Grace Bishop Mesrop Parsamyan, Primate of the Armenian Church of America (Eastern), visited AGBU Camp Nubar for its annual Open House, joining campers, counselors, parents, alumni, and friends for a joyful day of faith and fellowship.
The visit centered around the celebration of Soorp Badarak, presided over by Bishop Mesrop alongside Rev. Fr. Davit Karamyan. Following the service, campers shared their talents through traditional Armenian songs and dances, including an impressive pert performance by the B5 boys.
During the program, Camp Nubar Director Alexis Krolian and Committee Chair Jackie DiStasi recognized the Donikyan Family for their longstanding dedication and generosity to Camp Nubar. In honor of their support, a new waterfront deck overlooking Lake Arax was unveiled this summer, providing a beautiful gathering place for campers and counselors to enjoy for generations to come.
