June is Cancer Immunotherapy Month & we’re raising awareness of research that is opening new doors for children facing cancer.

Immunotherapy is designed to help the body’s own defenses recognize and fight disease - offering hope for treatment options that may be safer, more targeted & more effective for kids who need them most.

This month, we at Solving Kids’ Cancer are raising awareness of the role immunotherapy can play in changing what’s possible for children with cancer & supporting the research needed to bring safer, more effective treatments forward 🎗️

It’s All in the Science: Part 7 🔬

Combination therapy brings together different treatment approaches to help researchers explore smarter, safer options for children with cancer.

Researchers study these combinations carefully - looking at how treatments interact, how children’s bodies may respond, and how to balance effectiveness with safety.

Thanks to advocacy from , the Mikaela Naylon Give Kids a Chance Act, passed in February 2026, gives the FDA authority to require pediatric studies of certain cancer drug combinations - an important step toward better options for kids.

At Solving Kids’ Cancer, we support research that helps move promising approaches closer to the children and families who need them most.

Fewer than 1 in 5 anticancer drugs entering pediatric clinical testing advance to Phase 3 - a reminder of how difficult it can be for promising treatments to move through the research process.

For children with cancer, progress depends on more than discovery. It takes funding, collaboration & advocacy to help move science forward and bring better treatment options closer to the kids who need them.

At Solving Kids’ Cancer, we work to find, fund, and advocate for innovative clinical research that helps close this gap because children deserve treatments designed for them 🎗️

Resource Spotlight: Advancing Research for Children with DMG/DIPG

recently brought together pediatric neuro-oncology researchers to share updates on ongoing work focused on improving treatment and care for children with DMG/DIPG. The discussion highlights the importance of collaboration across the research community as scientists continue working toward safer, more effective therapies for children facing these devastating diagnoses.

We’re thankful to PNOC for continuing to foster collaboration & make these important research updates accessible to families, advocates, and supporters ✨

Please join us in welcoming Lindsay Jackson to the Solving Kids’ Cancer team as our new Research & Advocacy Assistant 💛

After her daughter Evelyn was diagnosed with neuroblastoma at just 20 months old, Lindsay became a dedicated patient advocate in pediatric oncology research, working alongside national & international neuroblastoma consortia to help advance better treatments for children.

Following Evelyn’s passing in 2024, Lindsay continues to honor her daughter’s legacy through advocacy and collaboration that drives progress in pediatric cancer research. At SKC, she will help strengthen partnerships focused on bringing safer, more effective therapies to children with cancer.

We are honored to have Lindsay’s compassion, experience & determination guiding this work alongside us. Welcome, Lindsay!

This Brain Tumor Awareness Month, we’re shining a light on the urgent need for better options for children facing brain & central nervous system tumors.

Brain & other nervous system cancers are the leading cause of childhood cancer death in the U.S - a heartbreaking reality that underscores why research progress matters so deeply.

At Solving Kids’ Cancer, we focus on some of the most hard-to-treat childhood cancers including brain tumors. We help advance research, collaboration & clinical trial access for children who need new options most.

Together, we can help move research forward and bring more hope to children and families who need it most 🎗️
