When disasters strike, many are left with feelings of hopelessness and uncertainty long after the headlines fade. We work with a network of partners to prioritize emotional well-being through locally-led approaches so that families have the support, resources and care they need to begin again.

Alongside local partners, we support financial education, business and vocational training, and the initiation of group businesses so that women—and their communities—flourish.

We're thrilled to have received a $1 million, 3-year grant from Lilly Endowment Inc. through its initiative, Hope After the Storm: Capacity Building for Faith-Based Disaster Relief Organizations. This work will strengthen the operational and technical capabilities of our US Disaster Program in response to the reality of increasingly frequent and severe disasters.

When a disaster strikes, we think big picture.💡

Their savings and loans groups began with a focus on strengthening financial resilience, but have evolved into something more—community-led action to restore the Amazon and address the effects of mass producing açaí, climate change and industrial projects.
