🇺🇳 From Commitment to Implementation: STUF at UN High-level Meetings
During the 81st UN General Assembly, STUF's Dr. William Chiang and our fall interns joined three high-level meetings separately: the 40th anniversary of the Declaration on the Right to Development, Pandemic Prevention, Preparedness and Response (PPPR), and the 25th anniversary of the Durban Declaration and Programme of Action.
From development (Declaration on the Right to Development), public health (PPPR), to anti-racism (Durban Declaration), speakers kept returning to one question: how do commitments become real action?
At the Development meeting, the chair stressed that development cannot be delivered from above and must be shaped with people. The PPPR meeting focused on how virus samples and vaccines are shared under the Pandemic Agreement, and on stable, equitable investment in health systems. At the Durban meeting, several UN leaders called for action on racial bias in AI and algorithms.
STUF has long worked to advance the SDGs through public health, humanitarian aid, environments, and education. We will keep taking part in UN discussions, bringing practical experience into global dialogue, and opening more multilateral spaces to young people. 🌏
🇺🇳 從承諾到落實：STUF 參與聯合國高階會議
第 81 屆聯合國大會期間，STUF 姜冠宇醫師與秋季實習生分別參與了三場高階會議，分別為《發展權利宣言》四十週年紀念會議、「大流行病預防、整備與應對（PPPR）」，以及關於反種族歧視的《德班宣言與行動綱領》二十五週年紀念會議。
從發展、公共衛生到反歧視，與會者反覆回到同一個問題：承諾該如何化為實際的行動？
發展權會議上，大會主席強調發展不能由上而下給予，而必須與人民共同形塑。PPPR 會議則聚焦在大流行協定中病毒樣本與疫苗的共享機制，以及對衛生體系穩定且公平的投資。最後在德班宣言會議上，多位聯合國高層呼籲正視 AI 與演算法中的種族偏見。
STUF 長期投入公共衛生、人道援助、環境和教育文化等議題，我們將持續參與聯合國相關討論，將多元的實務經驗帶進全球對話，也為青年創造更多走進多邊場域的機會，為共同的目標貢獻力量。🌏
