This week’s Knowledge Corner looks at how conflict and hunger drive each other. War destroys farmland, blocks aid and forces families from their homes, and hunger can in turn fuel further instability.

We focus on three countries facing some of the world’s most severe hunger crises: Sudan, Palestine and Yemen. But others, including South Sudan, Somalia, the DRC and Afghanistan, are struggling too, and we must not forget them. ❤️

In this week’s Knowledge Corner post, we examine the Durban Declaration and Programme of Action, and it’s worth asking what it has achieved, where it has fallen short, and what comes next.

Racism won’t end through declarations alone. It takes all of us: educating ourselves, speaking up, examining our own biases and backing inclusive policies and organisations. 🌎

Our attention goes where the media takes us; we mustn’t forget the other ongoing crises that the headlines ignore.

Right now in South Sudan, Yemen and the Democratic Republic of the Congo, millions of people are living through war, displacement and hunger with a fraction of the world’s attention. Mothers giving birth without shelter. Families fleeing by boat. Survivors of sexual violence waiting for justice that never comes.

These aren’t new crises. That’s exactly why they’ve been forgotten.
