06/14/2023

CUNY postdoctoral researchers in STEM, Social Science, and STEM education fields (and possibly, some humanities fields) are invited to apply for the ASRC’s pilot training/mentoring bootcamp series: The program (TRANSPIRE) helps postdoctoral researchers develop greater skills in conceptualizing research questions with transformative potential. These skills are developed via pragmatic projects critical to postdocs’ job search: research statements, a future-focused grant proposal (whitepaper), and a job or chalk talk.
The TRANSPIRE program (funded by the NSF) is primarily designed for postdocs who are at the stage of transitioning to an independent research position (as faculty or in industry).

Details and the application are available here:

Applications are due by Wednesday, June 21, 2023.

This is a quick reminder to fill out the survey that looks into the quality of life of NYC postdocs.
It is CRUCIAL for us, CUNY Postdocs, to participate!! We have preliminary data from our internally run survey that we are underpaid compared to our peers who are postdocs in the city.
The more CUNY participant will fill out the survey, the more power we will have to bring this up to the decision-making offices.
It takes less than 5 minutes.
