As September’s Workforce Development Month comes to a close, we recognize a mission dear to our hearts—and the reason Youth Construct exists: helping young people from underserved communities gain access to meaningful careers.
Today, we salute Fund II Foundation (F2F) - an organization we have long admired, and its Founding Director & President, Robert F. Smith Robert F. Smith - for their work expanding opportunities for Black and brown individuals and communities across the United States.
Since 2014, the foundation has awarded more than $265 million across education, career readiness, health, cultural preservation, and other areas of its mission.
Through its Cradle to Greatness framework and internXL internship platform, Fund II Foundation helps young people gain the preparation, connections, and experience to move forward in their careers.
That focus speaks directly to Youth Construct’s purpose. Construction offers paths in carpentry, electrical work, architecture, engineering, and project management—as well as technology careers in building information modeling (BIM), digital construction coordination, and drone-based site surveying. Young people deserve access to the training and experience that can open these doors.
Youth Construct is a nonprofit providing NYC high school juniors and seniors from underserved communities with free training, hands-on learning, and paid internships to help them take their first steps toward careers in the industry.
