The world tells us to love people who deserve it. The gospel teaches something completely different.
“We love because He first loved us.” — 1 John 4:19
Our love for others is not something we manufacture through willpower. It is the overflow of experiencing God’s love for us. The more we understand His grace, mercy, and forgiveness, the more naturally those same qualities begin to flow into our relationships.
If you’re struggling to love difficult people, the answer isn’t to try harder—it’s to look deeper at how much Christ has loved you.
His love is the source. Ours is simply the response. ❤️
