Welcome to the Parent Leadership Collaborative (PLC)!

We empower parents, caregivers, and early childhood service providers across Greater New Orleans to create nurturing and inclusive environments for children.

With financial support from W.K. Kellogg Foundation and The United Way of Southeast Louisiana, a diverse group of local parents and family-serving non-profit leaders have explored the local parent engagement landscape, convened partners, and formed the Parent Leadership Collaborative to develop and test parent engagement standards.

These parent engagement standards provide a framework for the assessment and improvement of best practices in parent and family engagement among child- and family-serving agencies and offer a foundation for systems changes that lead to greater power among parents. The framework is designed for use by partners across multiple systems to fulfill a common vision centered on the lived experience of families.

The Parent Leadership Collaborative seeks to build power among parents of young children through high-quality, effective family engagement and leadership.

What is Family Empowerment?

It is giving parents a direct voice in early childhood care and decision-making processes.

We use our Assessment Tool to provide a specialized evaluation system to score daycares, pediatricians, and local family service

Our goal is to bridge gaps in language access, resources, and inclusive support across the New Orleans metro area.
