AI is changing how we care for mothers and babies—before birth even happens.

In India, new technology is being developed to predict which pregnancies are at risk for preterm birth by analyzing health data, scans, and patterns doctors can’t always see.

Premature birth is one of the leading causes of infant loss—and too often, it comes without warning.

This kind of innovation gives doctors a chance to act earlier, monitor more closely, and better prepare for the care both mom and baby may need.

Our Executive Director, Kimberly Novod, and Saul’s Light mama, Joni Hess, joined WVUE this morning to discuss our new NICU book, Tiny Footprints, Big Love and the importance of NICU and bereaved families having a space to feel less alone on their journey.

Kimberly and Joni both contributed a letter to this book with the hopes of helping other NICU and bereaved families cope and navigate their unique journeys.

Saul's Light’s annual NICU Health & Equity Summit is a daylong event held at Manning Family Children's Hospital in New Orleans. Each year focuses on a NICU theme, featuring community panels, informative speakers, and opportunities to connect with others in the field!

This year’s NICU Summit theme is Discharge Begins on Day 1 and will be on Thursday, September 17, 2026, 8:00am - 4:00pm, and Worley Hall at Manning Family Children’s Hospital.
