For families navigating the NICU, stories can be especially meaningful. Books can give little ones a sense of normalcy and give parents a moment to pause, connect, and imagine brighter days ahead.

Every baby deserves the chance to grow, thrive, and come home.

During , we’re raising awareness about the factors that contribute to infant deaths and the disparities that continue to impact families—while uplifting the work being done to give every baby a healthier start.

At Saul’s Light, we believe supporting families before, during, and after the NICU helps create better outcomes for babies and stronger support systems for parents.

This month, we’re honoring the babies we’ve lost, supporting the families who carry their memory, and continuing to advocate for healthier beginnings for every baby.

Your NICU story could help another parent feel less alone.

We are looking for Peer Mentor Volunteers: parents who are 2+ years post-NICU or bereavement and are ready to support a family walking through a journey they once knew firsthand.

Mentors will be thoughtfully matched with a mother experiencing a NICU stay or loss, based on their own experience, comfort level, and capacity. You don’t have to have all the answers. Sometimes, having someone who simply gets it can make all the difference.

💛 Peer mentor training is provided.
