As Workforce Development Month comes to a close, we are proud to once again recognize Jericho Road’s dedicated Workforce Development crew.

At Jericho Road, workforce development is about more than learning skills. It creates opportunities for individuals to grow, contribute their talents, and take pride in meaningful work.

Here are more recent photos of our crew in action at one of our developments in Jefferson Parish, where they are helping construct and maintain quality, affordable homes.

The month may be ending, but their work and impact continue.

Jericho Road Executive Director Nicole Barnes recently spoke on the panel, “Bound Together: Small Business & Homeownership in American Wealth-Building,” at Invested in the South: CDFIs Building Assets, Strengthening Communities.

Hosted in New Orleans by the Louisiana Asset Funders Network in partnership with Propeller: A Force for Social Innovation, the convening brought together leaders from across the South to explore how capital can strengthen communities and expand economic opportunity.

Drawing on Jericho Road’s 20 years of service and impact, Nicole emphasized that homeownership and small-business ownership are connected strategies that can help families build stability, assets, and generational wealth.

We are proud to have Nicole represent Jericho Road in this important conversation about creating greater ownership and opportunity across the South.

September is Workforce Development Month, a time to recognize the people whose skills, dedication, and hard work help move our communities forward.

Since 2017, Jericho Road’s Workforce Development Program has provided opportunities for individuals to develop valuable skills while helping construct, rehabilitate, and maintain quality, affordable homes across Southeast Louisiana.

These photos reflect nearly a decade of growth, teamwork, and impact. Behind every project are dedicated crew members who bring their talents to the job each day. Their work helps create safe and stable homes, strengthen neighborhoods, and build thriving communities.

As Jericho Road celebrates 20 years of service and impact, we recognize the workforce development crew members who have played a vital role in advancing our mission.

This Workforce Development Month, we thank our crew for their continued commitment to Jericho Road and the communities we serve.

As we continue celebrating Black Philanthropy Month, we thank the Greater New Orleans Foundation for its continued partnership and investment in our community.

During GNOF’s Celebration of Black Philanthropy, Jericho Road was recognized as one of the 2026 Dr. Norman C. Francis Endowment for Racial Equity grantees, alongside 15 mission-driven organizations serving the Greater New Orleans region. The fund supports nonprofits working to advance racial equity, address systemic inequities, and build wealth in the African American community.

As Jericho Road celebrates 20 years of service and impact, this funding will strengthen our efforts to expand access to affordable homeownership and help families build lasting stability and generational wealth across Southeast Louisiana.

Again, thank you, GNOF, for supporting our work and the communities we serve!

Earlier this month, members of the Jericho Road team, alongside our Executive Director, joined residents, advocates, and community leaders from across Louisiana at the 2026 People’s Constitutional Convention in Baton Rouge. We were also proud to have Jericho Road Board Member Dr. Lucas Díaz help lead sessions throughout the day.

The gathering gave Louisianans an opportunity to share ideas, learn from one another, build relationships, and have meaningful conversations about the future of our state.

At Jericho Road, we serve families and communities throughout Southeast Louisiana, and we see firsthand how public policy impacts access to affordable housing, employment opportunities, and the resources communities need to thrive. That’s why community voices must be part of the decisions that shape our neighborhoods and our future.

Thank you to HousingLOUISIANA and its partners for bringing people together and creating space for these important conversations.

Stay informed. Stay engaged. Make your voice heard.

On July 2, 1964, the Civil Rights Act was signed into law, changing the course of our nation and strengthening the fight for equality.

More than 60 years later, that work is not finished.

The decisions made by our elected leaders shape where affordable housing is built, how communities are invested in, and access to employment and economic opportunity. That’s why voting and civic participation matter. Our voices have a role in shaping the policies that impact our neighborhoods and our lives.

At Jericho Road, we believe everyone deserves a safe, affordable place to call home and the opportunity to live a thriving life.

This month, we reflect on the legacy of the Civil Rights Act and recommit ourselves to the work of building more equitable communities.

As Pride Month ends, we celebrate the LGBTQ+ community and the strength that diversity brings to our neighborhoods.

At Jericho Road, we believe everyone deserves a safe, affordable place to call home and the opportunity to thrive. We remain committed to expanding access to affordable housing, strengthening communities, and creating neighborhoods where everyone is welcomed, valued, and belongs.

Pride may be celebrated in June, but inclusion is a commitment we carry forward every day.

Together, we can build communities where everyone can belong and thrive.
