When I started Love Your Neighbor NOLA, it was because my mother was murdered by young men whose mother lacked the support to help her deter her sons from a life of crime. It isn't an excuse. It's a gap. We recognize the strength and stability mothers provide to their households. Mothers set the mood, raise the bar, and teach our kids how to operate in a world that isn't always so caring. Today, we honor the moms of Love Your Neighbor NOLA, because we know the sacrifices you make, taking the bus, paying for Ubers, finding a way to get to us in the sun and the rain, all because you want to make things different for your family - better. You are committed changemakers, cycle breakers, and caretakers, all at once. We know it isn't always easy, but we hope you know it will always be worth it. You are the mother your children need and today, we celebrate you.
