Have you heard? Love Your Neighbor NOLA is hosting an art club this summer!

Kids ages 6-12 are invited to join Ms. Aki every Monday and Friday from 10-12:30 for mindful art lessons. These free sessions will teach your children to slow down and use their creativity as an outlet.

Interested? Sign up today! Spots are limited and we ask that you are able to commit to all 12 sessions. We hope to see you there!

When I started Love Your Neighbor NOLA, it was because my mother was murdered by young men whose mother lacked the support to help her deter her sons from a life of crime. It isn't an excuse. It's a gap. We recognize the strength and stability mothers provide to their households. Mothers set the mood, raise the bar, and teach our kids how to operate in a world that isn't always so caring. Today, we honor the moms of Love Your Neighbor NOLA, because we know the sacrifices you make, taking the bus, paying for Ubers, finding a way to get to us in the sun and the rain, all because you want to make things different for your family - better. You are committed changemakers, cycle breakers, and caretakers, all at once. We know it isn't always easy, but we hope you know it will always be worth it. You are the mother your children need and today, we celebrate you.

When I started Love Your Neighbor NOLA, it was because I watched teenagers sit with blank stares as they were sentenced to a range of years in prison for murdering my mom. It became clear to me while sitting in court rooms, that we needed more than youth programming. The city needed community again - it needed a safe place for parents just as much as their children.
