For the third year running, we open our season and our One Night Only series with Gurney’s two-hander. Andy and Melissa write to each other across fifty years, from summer-camp postcards to the things they could never say out loud. He becomes a senator, she a restless artist, and two actors reading side-by-side build a whole lifetime out of what’s said and what’s left unsaid. Funny, tender, and quietly devastating.

In the near future, 85-year-old Marjorie keeps company with a version of her late husband at thirty, programmed with only what her family chooses to tell him. As he learns their marriage from the people who remember it, the play asks how much of love is memory, and what happens when we get to edit the past. A Pulitzer Prize finalist.
