We’re doing something a little different (and fun!) for this week’s Mountainside Women’s Walking Group—we’re joining forces with Clean Up New London Day.

This collaboration feels like such a natural fit. The event isn’t just about picking up trash—it’s about bringing the community together, doing something positive, and accomplishing something meaningful as a group. Since we’re already out walking, why not do a little good along the way? Plus, we’ll sneak in some extra movement with all that bending and reaching 😊

A few important updates for this week:

Meeting Time: 8:00 AM (a bit earlier than usual)
Meeting Location: Public parking lot on Main Street (same starting point)
We’ll be assigned a street or two when we arrive
Supplies: Bags and gloves will be provided
Bonus: Coffee and donut holes will be waiting for us at check-in ☕🍩
Because of the nature of the event, we won’t be able to map our route ahead of time. We’ll choose our area once we arrive and will absolutely keep everyone’s comfort level in mind when selecting streets.

If bending or physical limitations are a concern, please still come along! You are more than welcome to walk with us, keep us company, and help keep the group motivated—we’d love to have you there.

We’ll plan to keep our usual timing and aim to return to the parking lot around 9:30 AM. Afterward, feel free to stay, connect with one another, meet members of the Clean Up New London planning committee, and maybe even snap a group photo.

Also—don’t forget! There’s still time to register for the Ultra 1K and make your steps this week count extra. Your $10 registration fee supports our local food banks, and you’ll be entered to win some great prizes, including local gift cards, a stand-up paddleboard, and a $250 gift card to the New London Inn.

Our Women’s Walking Group is back this Saturday, 4/18 at 8:30 AM!

We’ll start from the public parking lot on Main St and walk along Main Street and town, covering about 1.5 miles before stopping at Ascend Physical Therapy & Yoga. While there, Katie Weathers will guide us through 30 minutes of stretching along with a short meditation and breathing session—such a great addition to our morning!

After that, we’ll finish with an easy half-mile walk back to our starting point.

Katie has also generously offered coupons for participants to use toward their first private session or class—thank you, Katie and Ascend Physical Therapy & Yoga!

As always, the walking group is free, and no registration is required. Come join us for some fresh air, movement, and great company!

As a member of our leadership team, the Finance Manager plays a critical role in long term sustainability through daily financial management and an opportunity to inform long term planning. Key Responsibilities
● Manage day-to-day bookkeeping tasks including accounts payable, accounts receivable, bank reconciliations, and general ledger maintenance.
● Monitor and analyze cash flow on an ongoing basis, identifying trends and providing actionable insights to leadership.

● Strong understanding of cash flow management and financial reporting.
