Saturday 2-28-2026: TRAILS CLOSED! We’ve made the very difficult decision to keep the trails closed and cancel the radar run. However, we will still be serving burgers, brats, chips and cookies at the New Hampton Golf and Country Club from 11-5 (freewill donation). Everyone is welcomed, so hop in your UTV or something that has wheels and stop out to support the club. Heck, maybe even make a few stops at some of our sponsors along the way to support them as well!

Mother Nature just didn’t help us out for today’s event. Additionally, we’ve had a couple landowners send the club pictures of bare impassable sections of trail. Our decision was made out of an abundance of caution and out of respect to our landowners. The last thing we want is to permanently loose a landowner over one day of potential riding. Thank you for your understanding and for supporting the Sno-Riders.

IMPORTANT MESSAGE Friday, 2/27/2026: Today really hurt our trails, especially on the western half of the county which didn’t receive quite as much snow as the eastern parts. So the TRAILS WILL REMAIN CLOSED for now! We will make another update around 8AM Saturday morning regarding the trails. The one thing we know for sure is WE WILL be having burgers, brats, chips and cookies at the New Hampton Golf and Country Club from 11AM-5PM on Saturday, no doubts about that. We do not know for sure about the radar run but will update you on that around 8AM Saturday morning as well. Thank you for your patience and understanding, none of these decisions are easy to make and we will keep everyone updated.

Wednesday night update 2-25-2026. ATTENTION: Our trails will CLOSE Thursday night at 11:59 PM and remain closed until Friday night at 11:59 PM. This 24 hour closure is common sense considering Friday’s temps, thank you for understanding. The groomer was out all day on this route: Lawler-Little Turkey-Protivin-Jerico-Lawler-Waucoma-Alpha-Fredericksburg-golf course. We are doing everything we can to have some good trails for the weekend. The GTS Trails app and Facebook are the best sources for grooming activities and information.

The groomer is out now and heading east from the Groomer shed at the Golf course towards the Lawler area.
The plan is to groom tonight and then run tomorrow on the Eastern trails and work back to New Hampton. Hopefully we get some new snow tomorrow and freshen up the trails!

Quick update: The groomer had an issue and club members spent most of the day in the shed fixing it. It’s repaired and ready to go now but noting was groomed today. We will groom as much as we can for the weekend. Thanks for understanding.

Any updates or grooming news will be relayed here.

Wow what a busy last 3 days! So many awesome Iowa snowmobile clubs busted their tails to make the best possible trails and there were snowmobilers coming from all over to ride. Today we groomed golf course-Lawler-Little Turkey-Protivin-Jerico-Lawler-New Hampton entire loop-back to golf course. Should be looking good to continue to groom through the week, stay tuned.

Saturday was a great day of grooming and riding, lots of sled traffic in our area and surrounding club’s trails systems. The pesky wind really kicked up yesterday afternoon and continues to blow Sunday morning, causing some drifting and rougher trails. We will be grooming today so stay tuned for updates. If coming up to ride, expect varying trail conditions. You’ll likely find some good trails, some rougher trails and a few bare spots. But still better than nothing!
