𝙒𝙝𝙚𝙧𝙚 𝙮𝙤𝙪 𝙨𝙥𝙚𝙣𝙙 𝙮𝙤𝙪𝙧 𝙢𝙤𝙣𝙚𝙮 𝙢𝙖𝙩𝙩𝙚𝙧𝙨! 💸

When you make a taxable purchase in a community with Local Option Sales Tax (LOST), an additional 1% is collected. That money is distributed back to local governments and can be used to help fund local needs. For the current fiscal year, New Hampton is estimated to receive about $626,000 in LOST funds--those dollars help support things like infrastructure, street improvements, and other community needs.

When you choose a New Hampton business instead of taking your shopping dollars elsewhere, you’re supporting a local business, its employees and our local economy. And when that purchase is subject to LOST, 1% of that purchase helps generate revenue that comes back to our community. ❤

**This information is being shared by New Horizons Chamber to help explain how Local Option Sales Tax works and how those funds benefit our community.**

Proud to be a Chickasaw ❤️🖤

Thanks to all who helped make this year’s Homecoming parade a success! A big shoutout to Zip's AW Direct, Vern Laures Auto Center, Inc, Stanton Electric, New Hampton Auto Body & David Pitz for the use of trailers, carriers and transportation!

A special thank you to our NHHS Iowa Big North students for helping behind the scenes!

And of course, thank you to everyone who came out to celebrate and support our Chickasaws! It takes a whole community to make Homecoming special and we’re so grateful for ours!

LUNCH IS SERVED!

Join us for Grilling For a Cause today from 11 AM - 1 PM (or while supplies last) next to Riley’s Inc on Main Street.

The Chickasaw County Pork Producers Association are hosting their annual Grilling for a Cause, and this year all proceeds will benefit the New Hampton Public Library Memorial Foundation.

The Foundation helps support programs that make a difference for local kids and families, including the Summer Reading Program, Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library and Reach Out & Read, a program offered in cooperation with MercyOne New Hampton Medical Center that provides books to children during their well-child appointments.

It also happens to be homecoming next week so what a better excuse to grab some lunch while supporting a great local cause. ❤
