Delaware Safety Council was established in 1919 as a private, non-governmental, non-profit 501(c)(3) safety resource and education organization promoting safety on the roadways, railways, in the workplace and community. We offer a variety of safety and health classes including, DMV Approved Defensive Driving, CPR/AED, First Aid, Flagger Certification, Forklift Operator Safety, Forklift Instructor, OSHA 10 & 30 Courses, and many more.

Building Safety Month’s Week 4 (May 25–31) focuses on the subtheme "Communities Without Limits". It emphasizes creating inclusive, accessible environments that eliminate physical, sensory, and cognitive barriers, allowing everyone to safely and independently navigate public spaces, homes, and buildings regardless of age or ability. One example is the Louis L. Redding City County Building (800 N. French St., Wilmington), which utilizes compliant elevators, power-assisted doorways, and accessible service counters to ensure civic processes are barrier-free.
