We strive to build a church of action founded on biblical truth characterized by faith, grace, community, service, authenticity, clear thinking and cultural relevance. Grace Community Church is about knowing God, knowing His truth, and building community that extends to our full lives, not just Sunday morning. Join us Sunday mornings at 9:30 a.m. at 365 Lukes Wood Road, New Canaan, CT. All are welcome!

Do you realize that some of the harshest words you speak about yourself may not be directed at yourself… but at God?

When we constantly call ourselves stupid, worthless, ugly, or a failure, we’re not just criticizing ourselves. We are criticizing God’s workmanship.

Scripture tells us that we are made in the image of God (Genesis 1:27) and that we are “fearfully and wonderfully made” (Psalm 139:14). So when we continually tear ourselves down, we’re essentially saying, “God, You did a bad job with me.”

Assistant Pastor Stuart Knechtle challenged us to be careful with how we speak about ourselves. Instead of meditating on our insecurities, failures, and shortcomings, meditate on God’s truth about who you are and who He promises we will be!

As you learn to see yourself through His eyes, you’ll begin to stand taller, walk with greater confidence, and bring glory to His name.

✨ “Let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven.” Matthew 5:16✨

That truth was the heart behind our GLOW event! We wanted this day to be full of fun, joy, and laughter, while keeping the light of Christ burning brightly in the hearts of our little ones.

A special thank you to our middle school students for living that out so beautifully. Thank you for being selfless, for serving, and for helping lead those younger than you. Your example mattered more than you know.

Thank you to our leaders and volunteers! You made this day even more special. See you at the next one!

Absolutely! Here’s the revised version with a scripture reference:

Do you let your emotions dictate your truth?

Pastor Stuart Knechtle reminded us that King David often let his emotions shape his perspective—like in Psalm 27 when he declares, “The Lord is my light and my salvation; whom shall I fear,” but in Psalm 13, he cries out, “How long, O Lord? Will you forget me forever?”

We must recognize this tension: emotions rise and fall, but we need to anchor ourselves in the steady truth of who God is, not in shifting feelings.

If your emotions are pulling you, ground yourself in God’s unchanging truth.

A Face to Face with Stuart Knechtle: Are you skeptical of miracles?

You should not believe every claim blindly. But don’t let skepticism become a closed door to what God can do.

The same God who parted the sea, freed Peter from prison, and raised Jesus from the dead is still at work today.

Maybe the question isn’t, “Do miracles happen?”

Maybe the question is, “Am I open to God moving in ways I don’t expect?”

After 8 years in a wheelchair and having lost her sight to Multiple Sclerosis, Barbara says she heard a voice say, “Baby, get up and walk.”

And she did.

The miracle was so dramatic that some doctors reportedly thought she had died and were shocked to see her walking again.

Assistant Pastor Stuart Knechtle connected her story to Acts 12, where Peter was miraculously freed from his chains by God.

Have you been waiting for a miracle?

If God told you it was here, would you get up like Barbara? Would you trust Him like Peter? Would you tell the world what He had done?

Assistant Pastor Rob Knechtle connected the story of Esther with a powerful idea found in J. R. R. Tolkien’s The Lord of the Rings: the idea of a “eucatastrophe,” a sudden turn of grace and hope in the middle of darkness.

Like Esther, we are all faced with moments “for such a time as this,” moments where God gives us the opportunity to step up in courage, obedience, and faith.

But Rob warned us not to get distracted by the shininess of the ring or the comfort of the palace. The temptation is always to hold tightly to power, comfort, status, or self. Instead, we are called to keep our eyes fixed on Christ.

And in those moments, we are reminded that all of us still have a long way to go. We all need God’s grace, wisdom, and transformation daily.

🏆 Grace for the win! 3 years in a row!

By the grace of God, we are the returning champs of STEMFest once again. ALL GLORY TO GOD!

A huge thank you to all of our Grace parents who attended and chaperoned during the 100 Black Men of Stamford’s 3rd Annual STEMFest. Our students had an amazing time learning, competing, and exploring science, technology, engineering, and math.

Thank you to the 100 Black Men of Stamford for having us, and thank you to Chris Jackson, Cynthia, and all of the staff and volunteers who helped make this such a meaningful experience for our kids.

If you want your child to attend events like this in the future, make sure you’re signed up for our newsletter and checking your emails so you do not miss the next awesome opportunity.

What is courage?

Assistant Pastor Rob Knechtle asked a short but powerful question: So now we ask you that question! Do you have the courage of Esther? A courage like Job?

A courage that says, “Though He slay me, yet will I trust Him.” A courage that chooses to glorify God even in suffering, uncertainty, or sacrifice.

Biblical courage is not the absence of fear. It is faithfulness in the middle of fear.

Do you want that kind of courage? If so, try Jesus. Right where you are, call out to Him and ask Him for the strength, faith, and courage only He can give.

“Be strong and courageous… for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go.” Joshua 1:9
