On Wednesday morning June 21, United Jewish Federation of Stamford, New Canaan, and Darien will partner with UJA-JCC Greenwich and The Jewish Historical Society of Fairfield County to host author Lisa Belkin, for a Stamford home private event (10:30 am).
Belkin’s new book released in May and published by W. W. Norton & Company, Genealogy of a Murder, is a multigenerational tale of three families whose paths collide Independence Day weekend in 1960, resulting in a fateful encounter that shaped the future of all those involved.
Known for tales that are deeply researched and artfully told, Lisa Belkin’s career spans three decades — at The New York Times, mostly at the Magazine; also creating the Life’s Work column and Motherlode blog and as author of four narrative non-fiction books, including her latest, Genealogy of a Murder, and Show Me a Hero (1999), which later became an HBO miniseries.
