We had an amazing time on our spooky Halloween row this morning. The wind was the trick but the c***r and candy treats made up for it! Happy Halloween Everyone!

The Wampanoag also hunted whales from shore -- long, LONG before our Azorean whaleboats made their way to the USA. It was great to share the water as they paddled across the Cove. We're looking forward to many more opportunities to get out on the water together!

Members of Azorean Maritime Heritage Society were on hand this afternoon to help launch this mishoon, a traditional Indigenous dugout canoe, built by hand at the Community Boating Center, Inc. with their partners from the Mashpee Wampanoag. Did you know that New Bedford is the home of the second largest Wampanoag population in Massachusetts?

We were honored to be there for the saging & blessing ceremony and to help get the mishoon to the water.

Azorean Maritime Heritage Society has been invited by the Community Boating Center to help celebrate the launch of the traditional mishoon (canoe) that they have been building with the Wampanoag tribe. This special row will be Tuesday, October 27th, at 4pm.

The days might be getting shorter, but we are capturing some beautiful sunrises and sunsets while we are out on the water!

"I can see clearly now the rain is gone..."

We had rainbows and beautiful skies for Colleen's Open Row last night. Is there anything better than a New England autumn evening on the water?!? 😊

Both boats weathered the storm well and are safe & sound, but no downed tree was going to get in our way!!! The utility company disentangled the branches from the wires, but we did the rest. We didn't know we would ever need a lumberjack committee, but here we are. Many thanks to all the members who helped get us back on the water so quickly! Muito Obrigado!
