Meet Our Board: Lauren Shadwick, Secretary

When Lauren and her family moved to New Albany nearly 10 years ago for the schools, they knew they wanted to make it their forever home. 🏡

For Lauren, that meant finding ways to get involved and give back to the community. NAWN was a wonderful place to start!

One of her favorite things about NAWN is the opportunity to volunteer while connecting with others. She loves being able to socialize, have fun, and make a difference in the community all at the same time.

🎶 Fun fact: Lauren loves live music! She and her family try to attend several concerts each year, enjoying a wide variety of musical genres.

We're grateful to have Lauren serving as our Secretary and appreciate her dedication to making New Albany a wonderful place to call home! 💙

Meet the Board: Erin Spalding, Vice President

Erin has called New Albany home for 11 years. Originally from Central Ohio, she spent several years in Pittsburgh before finding her way back home. New Albany is where she has raised her three kids, built her business, and put down roots.

Connection is what first drew Erin to NAWN. With her kids attending school outside of New Albany, she was looking for more opportunities to connect with neighbors and other women in a similar stage of life. NAWN gave her that connection while also providing a way to get involved and give back to a community she cares so much about.

Fun fact: Before real estate, Erin created a homemade caramel company called Three Kids and a Kitchen! 🍬 She also loves coffee, walks on the New Albany leisure trails, time with her three kids, and traveling whenever she gets the chance. ✈️

We’re so glad to have Erin serving as NAWN’s Vice President! 💙

As Hunger Action Month comes to a close, we want to say THANK YOU! 🧡

Thank you to everyone who donated, volunteered, and helped raise awareness throughout September. Your generosity helps support the Healthy New Albany Food Pantry and provides reliable access to healthy food for neighbors in our community.

While Hunger Action Month may be ending, the need continues—and so can our impact. Every donation, every volunteer hour, and every act of kindness makes a difference. 🧡

We’re grateful to be part of a community that shows up for one another.

Such a good evening with our New Albany Women’s Network community! ✨

Our Elevate Professionals: Elevate Your Confidence event was all about confidence from the inside out—and we walked away with so many little gems.

Shirley Ellis, CEO & Founder of Intentional Impact, LLC, reminded us to identify our strengths, build a “proof file,” run toward the things that scare us, own our space, chase impact instead of income, solve problems, and leverage our superpowers.

Then Megan Bentley, The Color Countess, took us into the world of color analysis and reminded us that “color is strategy” and “color changes everything.” Color carries energy. It communicates before we ever say a word.

But perhaps the best reminder of the night was that we don’t have to become someone else to be confident. The grass is green where you are. The best version of you is already in you. Lean into the harmony. 💛

So grateful to our incredible speakers, everyone who joined us, and all of the women who continue to make these evenings so meaningful. A special thank you to our Elevate Professionals leader, Sandra Brogdon, for bringing such a thoughtful and inspiring evening together.
