Member spotlight: Mary Anne Davis

When asked why Mary Anne joined Rotary, she explained: “The first time I visited the club, Dr. Scott Kellermann was speaking about his work in Uganda, with the help of Rotary. I was so moved that I felt compelled to join the club immediately! No regrets…” Mary Anne shares that she stays involved mostly because of the quality of the members' hearts, minds and efforts they all expend to make our community and the world a better place.

The reason she keeps coming back is because she has made lifelong friends in this club and sees herself belonging forever. “The projects our club participates in make me feel proud. We are helping our community in so many ways whether it's a park, a school, a historical treasure. Those service projects provide such a wonderful opportunity to get to know other members in a way we might not in a regular meeting environment. I can't imagine my life without a Rotary connection!”

Member Spotlight: Andy Wright

Andy joined 49er Rotary 32 years ago because of the people involved, Rotarians are a diverse, upbeat group that does amazing work and has fun doing it. He saw ever expanding opportunities to do projects and change lives. He shares “I am so proud to be a member of Rotary International, the world's largest non-political, non-religious organization. It's given me the opportunity for service at home and internationally, I’ve gained so much experience and friendships that enrich my life.”
Andy is an integral part of our 49er Rotary family!

Membership Spotlight: Allie Crook

Allie joined Rotary because she was looking for a deeper way to connect with the community and give back in a meaningful hands‑on way. She wanted to be part of something bigger than herself, to be surrounded by people who care about service and are making a real impact locally and globally.
Allie stays involved because she sees the difference our club makes — through local work projects, international service, and the everyday ways members show up for each other and for the community. It’s an incredible group of people. Even though the 7 AM meetings are a little early, she still looks forward to them every week because of the energy, purpose, and camaraderie in the room.
Allie remains in Rotary to find meaning in the friendships built and the work we do together. The people in the club challenge her to grow, step up, and be the best version of herself. Rotary gives her both community and personal growth — and that combination keeps her inspired.
We are happy Allie connected and is part of our 49er Rotary community!

Carol Cox's demotion was out of this world! Kudos to Mary Anne and the talented cast.

We had a great work party at the Booth Family Center. We painted doors, weeded the garden, knocked down the tall grass and built fences. It's amazing how much can get accomplished on a Saturday morning. Go Rotary!
