Nevada County Cannabis Alliance

Nevada County Cannabis Alliance We are a non-profit trade association whose mission is to provide advocacy, education, and connection to support a thriving local cannabis industry.

Our values are steeped in economic development, environmental stewardship and craft cannabis. The Nevada County Cannabis Alliance is a member-based organization representing Nevada County’s craft cannabis cultivators, business owners and patients. Our members have played a vital role in the transformation of our county and represent an important part of the cultural, social and economic fabric of

our community. We work to be inclusive, and to build bridges so that responsible members of the cannabis community can legitimately participate in the county’s political landscape. This way we can address the issues that have plagued the underground cannabis industry and show the public that our members are caring and respectable citizens.

The Cannabis Alliance turns 10!

For the past decade, the Nevada County Cannabis Alliance has worked to support, advocate for, and strengthen our local cannabis community. As we celebrate our 10-year anniversary, we honor the farmers, small businesses, advocates, policymakers, and community members who have helped shape a more responsible, sustainable, and locally rooted cannabis industry in Nevada County.

This milestone is both a celebration of how far we have come and a recommitment to the work ahead: protecting local cultivation, supporting economic opportunity, promoting environmental stewardship, and ensuring cannabis remains a vital part of Nevada County’s agricultural and cultural landscape.

Come out and celebrate with us!

This event is open to all members, supporters, and friends of the Alliance. Attendance is free, but kindly RSVP in advance.

WEBINAR DETAILS

In this webinar, Attorney William Panzer will unpack what federal rescheduling could actually change for growers, from tax treatment and profitability to compliance requirements, research access, and the evolving balance between medical and adult-use markets. Beyond the headlines, we’ll explore how these shifts could influence day-to-day farming operations and long-term business strategy.

You’ll gain insight into:

• What Schedule III could mean specifically for cultivators
• Potential tax relief and its impact on margins
• New compliance realities and regulatory considerations
• Emerging opportunities—and possible risks

Earlier this morning on June 2, Diana Gamzon spoke at the Nevada County Board of Supervisors meeting in support of the SALC grant and its emphasis on protecting and strengthening working lands as a part of our local economy, our climate resiliency strategy, our rural identity, and our community’s future.

The Nevada County Resource Conservation District and County of Nevada were awarded a $500,000 Sustainable Agricultural Lands Conservation (SALC) planning grant to develop the Nevada County Agricultural and Working Landscape Conservation Plan. This three-year effort is designed to create a long-term strategy for protecting agricultural lands, strengthening the local agricultural economy, improving climate resilience, and supporting food security.

The planning process includes collaboration with local agricultural organizations and stakeholders and will focus on agricultural economic development, land-use policy, climate resilience, and public education. The resulting plan is expected to help guide future agricultural conservation and land-use decisions in Nevada County while supporting the long-term viability of local farming and agricultural businesses.
