PLEASE NOTE: PPR is a very small rescue (we do not have an animal shelter, but Facebook doesn't have 'dog rescue' as a category) that is well known throughout California as one of the few rescues that will take puppies under 3 months old and pregnant dogs. Please do not message us with information on dogs you want us to save. If you have seen a puppy (or puppies) under three months old, or a pregnant dog at a local shelter, e-mail us at [email protected]. Please do not take this personally but there is no way we can save every dog that is called to our attention. We also get about 50 pleas per day and are on almost every rescue request list in the state, so we are usually aware of dogs that are in need of rescue. Thanks for understanding.

🐾 🦴 🐾 ADOPT LIAM! 🐾 🦴 🐾

Can't stop, won't stop... looking for Liam's family.

Liam, for reasons the universe can't even begin to explain, is still waiting for his people. His siblings were adopted months ago, and somehow this handsome little character is still with us.

Fortunately, Liam has a pretty fantastic foster dad who's been giving him a great start in life. Puppy training classes, outings, adventures, plenty of socializing, and lots of love. Liam has been making excellent use of his time.

Here's the 9-1-1 on Liam:

He's about 10 months old, a Shepherd mixed with something adorably short, because those stubby little legs are clearly not standard equipment. Personally, I find them irresistible.

He's great with cats, dogs, kids, and grown-ups. Fully potty trained, comfortable in the car, and always delighted to see you. He LOVES toys, particularly anything he can chew, squeak, or proudly parade around the house.

And he's an adventure guy. Grab the leash and he's ready. Beach? Great. Hiking trail? Absolutely. Errands? Sure, why not? He doesn't particularly care where you're going. He's just happy he made the guest list.

Liam is still very much a puppy. He's got energy to burn, toys to investigate, places to go, and absolutely no intention of missing out on anything. But he's also outgrown some of the more exhausting early puppy nonsense. He'll do best with an active family who will keep building on his training.

If you've been following Liam's story for a while, maybe it's time to stop admiring him from afar and come meet him.

Look at his face and big smile. Liam is practically doing his own marketing.

Say hello to the Orchard Litter: seven adorable puppies (5 girls and 2 boys), born mid-July and ripe for picking by their forever families! (To date, three have been adopted.)

These sweet pups were living outside in an apple orchard in Northern California. Their dad is a Black Lab mix, and their mom looks like a sweet Hound x Australian Shepherd mix, giving them a wonderful blend of lovable personalities and classic good looks.

Here are a few picks of the crop:

Apple (girl): Truly the apple of our eye! Apple has a glossy black and tan coat and soulful brown eyes that will melt your heart faster than caramel on a warm apple.

Bing (boy): Sweet as his cherry namesake, Bing is a handsome black and tan boy with one floppy ear that likes to flip up whenever something catches his interest. He is ready for cozy evenings and long walks through crunchy fall leaves.

Hazel (girl): Warm as a roasted hazelnut, Hazel has a deep chocolate-black coat, a little white star on her chest, and white-tipped toes that look like she stepped in the first frost of the season.

Maple (girl): As colorful as autumn itself, Maple sports a striking tricolor coat of black, tan, and white, with a sweet white blaze down the face. Sweet as syrup and ready to fall in love, Maple would be the perfect addition to any family looking for a little extra warmth this season.

And of course, Mom! With her cream and ginger coat and one blue eye and one brown eye, it is easy to see where these pups get their good looks. She kept her babies safe out in that orchard, and now it is her turn to be cared for. Mom is also looking for a forever home where she can trade orchard life for a soft bed and a lap to rest her head on.

These pups are sweet, affectionate, playful, and loving, and they are ready to leave orchard life behind and start their next adventure with families who will love them forever.

This fall, skip the pumpkin patch and pick a puppy instead. If you are looking for a happy, loving companion to curl up with during sweater weather, one of these special orchard pups (or their wonderful mom) may be the perfect match!

☕️ ADOPT ESPRESSO! ☕️

Our little Espresso is officially the last of the Coffee Litter still looking for a family of his own.

He’s also the smallest, which he has wisely turned into a competitive advantage. More carrying. More lap access. More snuggles. Very little resistance from anyone involved.

Espresso is about 2 months old, a tiny Chiweenie with a ridiculously soft chocolate coat and an easygoing, affectionate personality. He’s dog friendly, cat friendly, loves attention, and is perfectly sized for those who appreciate a dog with excellent portability.

He may be the littlest pour, but he is making a very strong case for himself.

🍒🍑🍁 INTRODUCING THE ORCHARD LITTER!

Fresh from the orchard and ready for a change of scenery!

Meet Cherry, Peaches, and Maple, three adorable sisters who spent their early days living outdoors in an apple orchard. Not exactly the cushy puppyhood we'd have chosen for them, but these girls are making up for lost time!

Their dad is a Black Lab mix, their mom is a Hound mix, and the resulting combination is pretty darn irresistible.

At 12–14 weeks old, these girls are sweet, affectionate, playful, and ready to trade orchard living for soft beds, squeaky toys, and families to call their own.

And you can meet all three this Sunday! They'll be making their adoption event debut, ready to charm the socks off everyone.

🐾🐾🐾 ADOPT LIAM 🐾🐾🐾

We love this guy and remain genuinely puzzled that he's still available.

Liam is about 10 months old, a short-stack Shepherd mix, and an all-around funny little dude. He loves toys, all toys, no need to be particular, walks, outings, snacks and being involved in whatever his people are doing.

He's great with other dogs, cats and kids, rides well in the car, and is fully potty trained. He's past a lot of the tiny-puppy nonsense, but thankfully nobody has informed him that he's supposed to outgrow being ridiculous.

If your household has an opening for a comedian with short legs and excellent ears, Liam will be at our adoption event this weekend and would very much like to audition for the role.

We think you'll understand pretty quickly why we love him.

🎶 Meet Sonny & Cher! 🎶

🎤 The beat goes on, and so does the cuteness! This brother and sister duo of cattle dog mixes made their debut on 8/23/26, and they're ready for their next big tour: your home.

Sonny is the curious one of the act. He's always first to investigate, and let's be honest, he's usually the one who starts the trouble. A little instigator with a big heart and an even bigger sense of adventure.

Cher is a true diva in the best way. She knows her worth, and her worth is a warm lap and a long nap. If you're looking for a snuggle buddy, she 🎵Believes 🎵in you.

Together, these two are fairly mellow but getting more energetic by the day. They love romping on the grass, chewing sticks, and treating the space under the patio sofa as their private backstage dressing room for hiding and napping.

They also adore their 68 pound foster brother. At 5 pounds and under, they don't seem to have noticed the size difference, and they try to get him to play anyway. 🎹 Strong Enough 🎹 ? They certainly think so!

If you could 🎤 turn back time 🎤, you'd wish you'd met them sooner. Now's your chance to say I Got You, Babe. 🐾💕

Iris — 5 months old, beautiful, athletic and exceptionally well prepared for life. Great with kids and dogs, potty trained and crate trained.

Liam — 9 months old, short-legged, handsome and rarely stationary. Loves meeting new dogs, loves going places and is fully potty trained.

Dolly — 3 months old, fuzzy, social, happy and always ready to get involved.

Oreo — 4 months old and somehow both easygoing and extremely entertaining. An excellent combination and an excellent compact size.

Java — Young Dachshund/Chi-ish mama of the Coffee Litter. Spunky, social and officially ready to have some adventures of her own.

Cappuccino — 2 months old, sweet, cuddly and frankly not making our job very difficult with that face.

Espresso — 2 months old, smallest of the Coffee Litter and already an accomplished people pleaser.

Sonny & Cher — Our newcomers! About 5–6 weeks old, hilarious, confident little weirdos who are currently busy figuring out how everything works.

🌼🌼🌼 ADOPTED! 🌼🌼🌼

Adopt Oreo!

Oreo has moved. Her new address is The Toy Bin.

Wake up in the morning? Straight to the toy bin.
Gets a treat? Takes it to the toy bin.
Done playing outside? Toy bin.
Wondering where she is at dinnertime? Please. You know where she is.

Apparently when you’re surrounded by soft things and snacks occasionally arrive, there’s very little incentive to relocate.

Oreo is fully potty trained, crate trained and (new category!) toy bin trained, great with other dogs and kids, and a good little traveler in the car. She’ll likely top out around a very convenient 25 pounds.

Now she just needs a forever home with a sufficiently accommodating toy bin.

☕️ ADOPTED! ☕️

Java has finished raising children and would now like to discuss her next assignment. Preferably one involving fewer dependents and more outings.

At 2 years old and about 15 lbs, Java is a little Doxie/Chi-ish mix with a lot going on in a very portable package. She's alert, agile, curious, affectionate and generally interested in whatever everyone else is doing.

She was a devoted mom to her four puppies. Two are already matched, the nest is starting to empty, and Java is very much ready for the part where somebody chooses her.

She's potty trained, good with dogs, kids and cats, comfortable with everyday noise, and happy on leash. She loves adventure, likes being included in the daily proceedings, and is equally enthusiastic about ending the day in a lap.

Turns out she has a lot to offer beyond motherhood. Shocking to no one who has met her.

Java is young, social, energetic and ready for a life that belongs to her. And frankly, after raising four puppies, she's earned it.
