PLEASE NOTE: PPR is a very small rescue (we do not have an animal shelter, but Facebook doesn't have 'dog rescue' as a category) that is well known throughout California as one of the few rescues that will take puppies under 3 months old and pregnant dogs. Please do not message us with information on dogs you want us to save. If you have seen a puppy (or puppies) under three months old, or a pregn

ant dog at a local shelter, e-mail us at [email protected]. Please do not take this personally but there is no way we can save every dog that is called to our attention. We also get about 50 pleas per day and are on almost every rescue request list in the state, so we are usually aware of dogs that are in need of rescue. Thanks for understanding.

Bernadette has never met a “what’s over there?” she didn’t intend to answer.

She’s the biggest of the Spelling B crew and has been out front from the beginning: climbing first, running first, generally checking things out before anyone else gets organized.

Bernadette is a terrier mix, born in mid-July. She’s confident, curious, extremely soft, and perfectly happy to come back for a cuddle once her fieldwork is complete.

Bobby would like to get the weekend moving. Preferably at full speed.

He has siblings to wrestle, corners to investigate, and things to climb over. He has a full agenda and zero patience for sitting still.

And when the day finally catches up with him, because it will, Bobby's favorite place to land is in your lap. Hard stop. No negotiation.

Scruffy, nearly 6 lbs, and very much a Friday kind of energy. Bobby is one of the larger Spelling B pups, born in mid-July and he is ready for whatever comes next.

School is back in session, and Jackie has enrolled. Welcome to Jackie 101.

Lesson One: Self-control.

At just 15 weeks old, Jackie is learning to wait, focus and use that smart little brain, even with a whole snuffle mat full of kibble just a tempting whiff away. Judging by that focus, Jackie has already taken inventory.

She’s bright, food motivated and very capable. Someone is going to have a lot of fun with this girl.

Stay tuned for more from Jackie 101. For now, we’d say she’s off to a pretty strong start.

This tall drink of water is Otis. Otis is 100 pounds of “where are we going?”

Hike? Yes. Car ride? Absolutely. Boat? He’s in. Neighborhood surveillance from the front window? Also an important part of his schedule.

Otis is a 2½-year-old Lab/Great Pyrenees mix, wonderful with kids, affectionate, adventurous and very serious about being included.

He’s looking for a home with some room to stretch those very long legs and people who appreciate a gentle giant with places to go.

Otis is a Pound Puppy alum who needs a new home through no fault of his own. This is a courtesy post for his current owner, and Pound Puppy Rescue will help facilitate the rehoming process for the right family.

Hi, I’m Oreo.

The traditional Oreo method is twist, lick, dunk. I’ve streamlined the process. I just lick. Faces, mostly.

I’m a black-and-white snack sized pittie-ish girl. Mom was a 15-pound Chihuahua, Dad appears to have brought some pittie to the equation, so I’ll likely end up somewhere in the small-to-medium neighborhood.

I love dogs. I love cats. I love people. And if something is happening anywhere within a reasonable radius, congratulations, I’m involved now.

I’m curious, cuddly, rambunctious and constitutionally incapable of sitting on the sidelines.

Meet Dolly, 10 weeks old and already living up to the name.

Dolly is an affectionate, confident little mystery mix who loves people, loves dogs and, yes, even loves the cat. She’s playful, snuggly and a quick study — she’s already mastered her crate and is hard at work on potty training and recall.

We expect her to be somewhere on the small-to-medium side when she grows up.

For now, she’s just working 9 to 5 at being ridiculously cute.

🐾ADOPT JACKIE!🐾

Jackie would like to clarify something.

Yes, she’s a bit of a wild child.
Yes, she has several ongoing projects involving dirt, sticks and dog wrestling.

But introduce snacks and suddenly we have a seriously good student.

At 15 weeks old, Jackie is smart, very food motivated and already figuring out that good things happen when she listens and uses that busy little brain.

Her future family should probably stock treats. And maybe secure the landscaping.

Underneath all the mischief is a bright, enthusiastic puppy who is going to be an absolute blast for a family ready to keep her learning, moving and involved in the action.

He’s an active, smart guy who would love a home with walks, adventures, and people who are ready to keep up with him.

Baloo has a new skill. Several, actually.

He’s been working hard on his crate training: going in on cue, settling, and staying calm when more interesting things are happening nearby. His foster family is proud. We're all proud.

Bonus points for opening the crate door himself, this was not part of the curriculum but, honestly, super impressive.

At 4½ months old, Baloo is an eager, clever Shepherd mix (best guess) who genuinely loves to learn. The snack-based compensation package doesn’t hurt, but he’d probably show up just to hear us say "good boy!".

He’ll do best with an active family ready to keep building on his progress, and he’d love having another dog around to play with and learn from.
