As my four-year term concludes on December 31, 2025, I will not be seeking reappointment to the Florida State Board of Education. I’m deeply grateful to Governor Ron DeSantis for the honor of serving Florida’s students, families, and educators in such a meaningful way.
It has been a privilege to help advance bold, student-centered education reforms under Governor DeSantis’ leadership. During my service, Florida made historic investments in teacher salaries, elevated parental rights and involvement, and achieved universal school choice. Our renewed emphasis on classical learning and rigorous academic standards reinforced the foundational principles of excellence, critical thinking, and civic understanding.
I’m very proud of our work to improve struggling schools through the Bureau of School Improvement and initiatives such as Schools of Hope. Every child is capable of learning but it’s our responsibility to ensure they have the tools, resources, and environment to succeed.
We also remained committed to supporting school board members and district leaders who stand on the front lines implementing strong state policy while addressing complex local challenges, often in the face of relentless opposition from entrenched liberal education cartels.
Thank you to each of the Commissioners, Board Members and dedicated leaders at the Department of Education for their knowledge, professionalism and friendship.
As I step away from the Board, I am honored to continue serving the people of Florida with the office of US Senator Ashley Moody.
