A Donor Advised Fund is a simple, flexible way to organize and maximize your philanthropy.

Here’s how it works:
1️⃣ Contribute to your CFMW DAF with cash, stock, or other assets and receive an immediate tax deduction.
2️⃣ Grow your giving—those contributions can be invested and grow tax-free over time.
3️⃣ Give when you’re ready by recommending grants to the nonprofits and causes that matter most to you.

What happens when giving shifts from “me” to “we”?

Through her work, Miki Akimoto, now the VP of Philanthropic Advisory Services at Foundation Source, has found that there is both power and joy in working together toward shared solutions.

Collective giving reminds us that meaningful, lasting impact is rarely created alone. When we pool resources, build relationships, and align around shared goals, we become part of something larger than ourselves.

One book Miki recommends is 'The Big We,' which explores the power of collaboration and what becomes possible when we move beyond individual action to collective impact.
