BradO Ride For Food

BradO Ride For Food After a prosperous career in food, I was compelled to feed those who need a hand up during these times of high food, housing and medical costs.

Volunteering on the board of A Place To Turn allows me to use my experience to help feed those who need a lift.

Training update: Got a nice 50 miler in Saturday, NOT feeling tired! I kept carbs and hydration flowing from start to finish.
The training has helped build my endurance and understand the importance of nutrition before and throughout the ride. Those are the same kind of outcomes we help feed our community. Nutritious foods keep you strong. They help keep you from succumbing to illness. They help kids do better in school. Proper nutrition is a key step in helping build self-sufficiency and longevity.
We’re getting closer to September 27.

Training update: Got a nice 45 miler in Saturday. Feeling strong but tired.
But every ride reminds me why I’m doing this — food insecurity isn’t abstract, it’s real people in our community.
We’re getting closer to September 27.

Training has officially started.

My legs are currently filing a formal complaint.

62 miles still feels far away, but every ride is a step toward helping people who need it.

If you’re able to support, I’d really appreciate it:

Hello friends,
I am riding again in the Three Squares Ride for Food. I am hoping to surpass last years accomplishments as the need to address local hunger continues to grow. I thank you for your kind contributions and spreading the word and I am asking for your support again this year.

We ride on September 27. Let's roll!

Although the Ride for Food has come and gone, the fundraiser remains live until November 30. It was a really long ride but we raised a lot of money that is going to help many people in the region who need a lift.

I am so grateful for those who donated on my page, and I welcome any extra support before the fundraiser ends.

It was the longest ride I have ever done and it took all of the 4.5 hours to complete it. Although I swore "never again" as I crossed the finish line, I have started training in earnest for next year. I am a glutton for punishment but I feel a deep need to help people who need a hand up with food and nutrition.

All the best to you and yours this holiday season.

Well, I just finished my last training ride. 100KM is longer than I thought! Looking forward to October 5 Ride for Food. I hope I can finish the course before they take away lunch and beer! This ride is for a great cause. If you haven't done so, please consider making a donation and/or share to those who embrace the cause.

Many thanks,

Brad
