Thank you The Village Chapel for packing “pick-me-up” bags for our students! You are helping to provide for needs students might have and helping to keep the focused on their studies.

Volunteers packed 200 goodie bags filled with snacks, toiletries, and everyday essentials for our students. Thank you for the love you show our community ❤️

We especially want to thank Susan Love our liaison and champion at The Village Chapel.

Thank you Mike and The Nashville Food Project for having us for your Community Partner event!

Chris and Shane got to connect with other local partners and get a tour of the Nashville Food Project facility.

The Nashville Food Project provides snacks and meals at our campuses each week for students. Their partnership allows our students to focus on their studies without worrying about dinner.

Over the past few weeks our board members have spent time visiting campuses and shadowing classes! We had one board member share about his experience:

“The evening was well organized and the Begin Anew culture was on full display. We had the opportunity to hear from our program manager, volunteers, and observe some class time. One thing that stood out to me was the strong engagement of our students. The biggest indicator that I observed is that we saw very little use or interaction with phones. Students are attending class because they want to learn. This is much different in corporate America!”

Our board is dedicated to our mission, and providing the best possible experience for our students. We are grateful for their work and dedication to our community!

For we wanted to share a tradition of some of our students! Velitas is the beginning of the Christmas season in Columbia. Nicole shared with us a little bit about this tradition.

Yesterday, we got to celebrate the more than 18 years that Saralu Lunn has served students at Begin Anew. She has been such an essential part of our Franklin Campus and she will be greatly missed in our community group.

We are grateful for everything she and Debbie Drennan have done through the community they built at the Franklin Campus.

Saralu was so surprised by the party and it was a wonderful time celebrating with new and old friends. A previous student baked the cake to celebrate (as she owns her own cake business now).

Thank you Saralu and Debbie for the impact you’ve made in the community and for answering God’s call to serve 😊

(Of course even at a party celebrating her, Saralu was still looking for opportunities to serve. Like helping plate and serve cake to everyone)

Brandon is currently enrolled in our High School Equivalency program and is excited for the opportunity to attend college once he receives his High School Diploma.
