Happy National Donut Day!

Today, we celebrate a tradition that has become synonymous with law enforcement and first responders across the country. While the jokes about cops and donuts never seem to get old, National Donut Day is also a reminder of the hardworking men and women who serve our communities every day.

The FOP Andrew Jackson Lodge 5 would like to thank all of the local businesses, community members, and supporters who continue to show their appreciation for law enforcement through acts of kindness—big and small.

In today’s FOP Throwback Thursday, we’re featuring what may have been MNPD’s fastest patrol car ever!

This specially modified Chevrolet Caprice was raced right here in Nashville during the 1990s. It’s a great reminder of some of the interesting vehicles that have worn the MNPD decal over the years.

The MNPD’s Drone as First Responder (DFR) test program that began this week is directly responsible for Wednesday afternoon’s arrest of a domestic violence suspect in Madison. He is charged with domestic assault for allegedly punching his daughter in the face twice, and possession of drug paraphernalia. More info ⤵️

On this Memorial Day, The Fraternal Order of Police Andrew Jackson Lodge 5 proudly stands in remembrance of our fallen heroes. We honor and remember the brave men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice in service to our nation.

Their courage, dedication, and love of country will never be forgotten. As we spend time with family and friends this Memorial Day, let us pause to remember those who gave everything for the freedoms we enjoy each day.

The FOP Andrew Jackson Lodge is a proud supporter of the Law Enforcement United – Team Nashville.

This year, seven MNPD officers and one support member helped raise more than $13,000 in support of our law enforcement community and the families of fallen heroes.

Overall, Law Enforcement United raised an incredible $680,000:�• $340,000 to Concerns of Police Survivors (C.O.P.S.) to help fund children’s camps for survivors of fallen officers�• $220,000 to Spirit of Blue�• $120,000 to ODMP.org�• An additional $31,000 dedicated to su***de prevention and mental health awareness for law enforcement officers.

We are honored to stand beside those who continue to serve, remember, and support our law enforcement family across the nation.

Thank you to Team Nashville for representing our city, the department, and the lodge with pride and dedication.

The FOP Andrew Jackson Lodge 5 is excited for the new Drone as First Responder program launched by the Metro Nashville Police Department.

This technology is about one thing — improving public safety while helping protect both officers and the community. Drones can provide responding officers with critical real-time information before they arrive on scene, helping de-escalate situations, locate missing persons, assist during major crashes, and improve emergency response times.

Programs like this are already proving successful across the country, giving officers better situational awareness and helping save lives. We appreciate MNPD’s commitment to innovation, transparency, and safer policing for Nashville.
We fully support efforts that give our officers the tools they need to serve our communities more safely and effectively.

Today, we remember our fallen brother, Officer Paul Scurry of the Metropolitan Nashville Police Department, who was shot and killed in the line of duty while attempting to apprehend a wanted subject.
