We received a sweet note from the father of a lineman. Please see below:

“My son is a lineman from out of town that is there helping and 2 ladies brought 2 gallons of coffee and 4 dozen donuts to them on Tuesday I believe. I would love to say thank you.”

Those men and women are working hard, thank you to those 2 women and their kindness!

Metro’s Winter Storm Fern Resource Page:
Residents can find additional recovery information, safety guidance, and citywide updates on Metro’s Winter Storm Fern Resources page at Nashville.gov. This site is being updated regularly with the latest details to support community recovery efforts.

Food Resources:
1. World Central Kitchen
World Central Kitchen’s Relief Team is serving meals to families impacted by the recent snowstorms in Tennessee at the following locations:
Location: The Home Depot – 1015 Joyce Layne
Time: 11 am

Location: Madison Community Co-Op - 752 Madison Square
Time: 11 am – 2 pm

2. Second Harvest Food Bank
Neighbors seeking food assistance can find nearby food pantries and distribution sites by visiting: secondharvestmidtn.org/find-food.
This tool provides the most up-to-date information on Partner Agencies across Middle and West Tennessee. In Davidson County alone, 99 Partner Agencies provide multiple access points for neighbors in need of food support.

Transportation Resources:
Transportation to and from Warming Shelters -
Anyone who needs transportation to a warming station can call 615-401-1712. (Be prepared to share your name, location, number of people needing transportation, special needs or mobility concerns, and whether you’re bringing pets.)

WeGo Operations:
Winter weather can bring challenges to transit operations, as icy and snowy conditions may impact bus service. Detours and route changes due to winter weather are called snow routes or snow route detours.

To stay up to date on how your route may be impacted by the Winter Storm Fern, visit WeGo’s Weather Alerts Page. On this page:
· All routes on a snow detour will be listed as a snow detour.
· Routes not running at all will be listed as cancelled.
· Routes unaffected by the snow will be listed as normal.
Have a specific question about a route? Please call 615-862-5950.

NDOT’s Continued Treatment of Roads:
Nashville Department of Transportation crews continue treating roadways and clearing vegetation. NDOT follows a comprehensive network of primary, secondary, and post‑secondary snow routes to maximize efficiency and ensure coverage across the county. To view the route map, visit Nashville.gov. As with last year, post‑secondary routes will replace call‑in requests; however, residents can still submit reports through hubNashville.

Some streets remain inaccessible due to downed vegetation. As those areas are cleared, NDOT crews are treating roadways in close coordination with NES.

Nashville Department of Transportation:
Debris Collection - Nashville Department of Transportation & Multimodal Infrastructure (NDOT) crews continue working around the clock to clear Nashville roads, support emergency response and assist Nashville Electric Service (NES) with power restoration efforts by clearing obstructions and vegetation from impacted streets.

NDOT does not clear or remove fallen trees, limbs, or vegetation on private property.

Many residents are experiencing downed trees, limbs, and other vegetation on their property. As recovery efforts begin, residents should move brush to the curb of their property for collection. Please refer to the attached NDOT Storm Vegetation Removal Guide for tips on how to safely gather, sort, and prepare debris for pickup.

To support the community during recovery, NDOT will be adding supplemental countywide residential brush collection for debris placed at the curb.

Nashville Convention and Visitors Corporation (NCVC):

The NCVC has created a central database of dozens of hotels in and around Nashville offering deeply reduced rates for residents needing longer‑term accommodation. Residents can explore available discounts and book directly through the hotel resource page at VisitMusicCity.com/hotel-local-discounts.

Residents without internet access can call the NCVC at 615-259-4700 for help locating available options.

Hi neighbors, we hope you are staying safe in this crazy weather.

Metro Office of Homeless Services:
OHS, along with other Metro departments, is preparing for a week of low temperatures. Weather conditions are being closely monitored. Final decisions are made by noon the day prior, with a text alert at 9:00 am on the opening day.

Metro Overflow Shelter will operate on extended hours:
· Wednesday, January 28th - The shelter will operate on extended hours, remaining open for 24 hours.

Temperatures will continue to be monitored throughout the next seven days.

Emergency Shelter Utilization:
Please encourage individuals to continue to utilize the primary shelters until they reach full capacity. OHS will closely coordinate with local primary emergency shelters to make adjustments and transportation arrangements as needed.

Metro Emergency Shelter operates as the overflow shelter; please continue to use the regular Emergency Shelter options at Room In the Inn and Nashville Rescue Mission. Cold Patrol and Outreach Teams, make every attempt to deliver people to the primary shelter options prior to utilizing the Metro Overflow Shelter. When transporting people to the Metro building, ensure people actually enter the building prior to driving away.

Launch Pad Emergency Shelter provides shelter for unstably housed young adults 18-24 in an LGBTQ+ affirming atmosphere. Details about hours, locations, and procedures will be provided to young adults via email upon sign-up through nashvillelaunchpad.com.

Stay informed:
· Text the word OHSALERT to 888-777. We will text you each time Metro opens the shelter.
· Call (615) 862-6391.
· Visit www.Nashville.gov/Homeless and other social media platforms.

Transportation:
WeGo Central: Please arrive at WeGo at 6:30 pm People downtown can catch the bus to the shelter from WeGo Central at 400 Charlotte Ave. They should go downstairs to the lower level at WeGo Central and wait at Bay 24 for the bus. Both the number and letter are important: 2-3-B. We are partnering with agencies to secure crates for animals, as all animals will need to be in a crate this year. Bus passes given out in the morning are good for all day rides.

Metro Water Services:
Proactive tips to protect your water lines:
· Keep water moving! Moving water is less likely to freeze so keep faucets dripping.
· You do not need power to run the water. Shutting off the water places your service line at risk of freezing and breaking. The only time you should shut your water off is if you have a burst pipe.
· The additional water use from dripping your faucet will not drastically affect your water bill and is much less than a plumbing repair. A fast drip uses approximately 30 gallons of water in a 24-hour period. 100 gallons of water from MWS is $1.70, including fees and taxes.
· If you are concerned with the water waste, collect the water in a pitcher and use it for daily activities such as flushing toilets, watering indoor plants, filling pets water bowls, etc.

Nashville Waste Services:
Service Update:
No residential curbside collection for Wednesday, January 28, as neighborhood routes are still obstructed by snow, ice, and debris from fallen trees. In addition to ensuring the safety of teams, services are paused to ensure emergency crews can continue their cleanup efforts safely and efficiently.

Convenience Centers:
To provide some relief for residents, all Metro Nashville Convenience Centers will be free of charge for the remainder of the week. Residents are encouraged to bring household trash, recycling, and all other regularly accepted items to any of the four centers at no cost.

Centers will operate on modified operating hours for the remainder of the week to ensure the safety of our residents, staff, and facilities:

· Hours: 8:00 am – 3:30 pm (Through Saturday)
· Locations:
o East Convenience Center: 943 Richard G. Adams Drive
o Anderson Lane Convenient Center: 939A Anderson Ln, Madison
o Omohundro Convenience Center: 1019 Omohundro Pl, Nashville
o Ezell Pike Convenience Center: 3254 Ezell Pk, Nashville
