Here’s a picture from our final concert last night led by our fantastic conductor Marje Bollinger Hogan! It was a great program that included pieces by Ricky Lombardo, Jonathan Cohen, Kelly Via, and Kathy Farmer…all great flute players and composers! It was a great time had by all!! After 29 years, this was Marje’s last concert directing us, as she’s moving to Buffalo to be with family. We are all so grateful for being recipients of her talents and wish her the best of luck with the next chapter of her life!!

Merrimack Valley Flute Choir will be starting up on September 24. We will rehearse from 2:00 to 4:00 PM on Sundays, at the Hollis Congregational Church in Monument Square. We will plan to play for the Nashua Holiday Stroll on November 25, and also for a church service in December.

Please let us know if you’re interested in joining us, and if you’re interested in playing bass, flute, alto, flute, or piccolo, or if you have those instruments. We are still working the program and open to any input you might have.

Did you know that you can hire the Merrimack Valley Flute Choir members to perform at events? We are happy to play weddings, special occasions, holiday parties, and concerts at public and private venues.

Our regular rehearsal space will not be available for some time due to the pandemic. Fortunately, the Hollis Congregational Church in Hollis has kindly offered us some space. We are going to start rehearsals and see how things go. Please plan to join us if you are vaccinated and feeling well. There is room for us to socially distance while playing. Please plan to wear a mask while not playing. I will wear one to conduct. Here are the details:

Time: Sunday, September 19, and following Sundays 3:30-5:30 pm
Place: Hollis Congregational Church, 3 Monument Square, Hollis, NH. Room TBD. (Diane will help us)
Protocol: Vaccinated, masks when not playing, keep distance, open windows weather permitting. Hugging discouraged, sorry! :( Please stay home if you are not feeling well.
