An evening of great conversation as we brought together housing leaders on island to help our community better understand and navigate Nantucket's local housing resources and programs. 👏

Thank you to our 5 amazing panelists, Samantha Pillion for leading the discussion, and to those who joined us last night as we explored how programs from different organizations can work together to help keep and create homes for the year-round community. We can't wait to see what the future holds for Nantucket housing. 🏠💙

We spent 6 months studying Nantucket's workforce housing. Now, the findings are in. 👏

Conducted from January through June 2026, our study with the Boston-based consulting firm EBP US, combined an analysis of public property and geographic data with a survey of 72 Nantucket employers, four stakeholder interviews, a review of existing research, and case studies of four other tourism-dependent communities facing similar housing pressures.

Last month, we gathered together to present the findings and examine how employer-supported housing affects Nantucket's workforce, businesses, and year-round community. 🏠

For those who could not join us, you can take a look at the findings at the link below. The future of Nantucket housing starts here. ⬇️

Four sessions, four speakers, and countless conversations about solutions-based efforts in adaptive reuse practices. ♻️👏

Thank you to everyone who joined us this past Saturday for our Reuse Speaker Series. We gathered at the Thomas Macy Warehouse and discussed how to turn invasive plants into useful materials, making biochar to improve soil health using organic waste, where exactly our trash goes when we throw it “away,” and so much more.

A special thank you to our amazing speakers who shared their expertise. We are so honored to be a part of these amazing conversations, and we can't wait to see what the future holds for adaptive reuse practices here on Nantucket. 💚

The future of Nantucket workforce housing starts here. 🏠👏

Thank you to everyone who joined us last night at Nantucket Atheneum as Jane Haines, senior consultant of EBP, presented the findings from our recent Nantucket Workforce Housing Study.

From January through June 2026, the Boston-based consulting firm EBP conducted a study that explored how the need for employers to provide housing support for their employees affects workforce well-being, community quality of life, cost of living, and the cost of doing business on the island.

We are so grateful to have had the opportunity to gather together and examine how employer-supported housing affects Nantucket's workforce, businesses, and year-round community. Thank you for joining the Nantucket housing conversation with us.
