Student Weekend Food Backpacks are available TODAY 10/30 after school at both 19 Boynton Lane and at the Nantucket Boys & Girls Club. All Nantucket students are welcome to pick up their free, nutritious backpack full of meals and snacks for the weekend. We look forward to seeing you today at 19 Boynton Lane. Thank you to the Nantucket Golf Club Foundation for sponsoring this critical program for our year-round children.

Partner Spotlight: Nantucket Public Schools

School Pantry, Weekend Backpacks, & Summer Meal Support — In partnership with Nantucket Public Schools, Nourish Nantucket helps address student food insecurity year-round by providing pantry resources and weekend backpacks during the school year and ready-to-eat meals during the summer months when school meal programs are unavailable.

Access is coordinated through Nantucket Public Schools.

Today our Program Manager, Laurie Richards, attended MDAR's Meeting in the Middle: Building Collaboration Across the Commonwealth’s Food Supply Chain for a day focused on strengthening connections across Massachusetts’ local food supply chain. We are so pleased to also see our friends from Island Grown Initiative on Martha's Vineyard!

Share your story! In partnership with Worcester Polytechnic Institute (WPI) we are looking for individuals to share how food has shaped their lives on Nantucket. The goal of this project is to curate stories of the lived experiences of Nantucket residents facing food insecurity. The findings from this project will help us improve our research and programing to better support our local community.

🦌 Local Protein Program!
MassWildlife’s Hunters Share the Harvest program provides an
outlet for hunters to donate venison to Massachusetts residents facing food insecurity. Since the program’s inception, more than 100,000 meals have been distributed to families in need.
This program takes place at The Nantucket Land Bank Agricultural Processing Center located in the Community Food Hub at 19 Boynton Ln.

Access: Distributed by Nourish Nantucket through the Food Pantry and other NN Network Partner organizations.

That's a wrap on this seasons Farm Truck at the Nantucket Boys and Girls Club! This partnership with Sustainable Nantucket provided free local produce to NBGC families during pick up hours. Thank you to everyone who made this program possible including Sustainable Nantucket staff, our local farmers, Nantucket Boys and Girls Club, and our amazing volunteers.
