Nantucket Cottage Hospital recently awarded 35 Beinecke Scholarships to island students, residents, and employees pursuing education and training in medical and healthcare fields. The scholarships reflect the hospital’s ongoing commitment to developing local talent and supporting a strong healthcare workforce on Nantucket.

Congratulations to this year’s recipients and thank you to the Beinecke family for sustaining this important investment in the island’s future.

Need rehab services on-island? Nantucket Cottage Hospital’s Rehabilitation team offers physical, occupational and speech therapy for adults and children at two convenient locations: 6 Bayberry Court and 57 Prospect St.

Our year-round Rehabilitation team includes eight physical therapists, three occupational therapists, two speech language pathologists, and eight management and support staff. Each summer, the PT team doubles in size to accommodate the demand for services by recruiting seasonal travel staff.

With a fully staffed team this summer, appointments are available within a week or less. Call 508-825-8191 to schedule.

The Cottage Pharmacy, located at 10 Vesper Lane, has added Sunday hours as of May 24.

Summer hours at the pharmacy will be Monday-Friday from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m.; Saturday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.; and Sunday from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.

Nantucket's beloved Hospital Thrift Shop opened today for its 97th season in business selling donated goods to support Nantucket Cottage Hospital.

Now open on India Street through October, the Shop sells gently used clothing, household items, furniture, and more, with a dedicated team of staff and over 100 volunteers.

Last year, the Hospital Thrift Shop donated a record $660,000 back to the hospital.

Congratulations to the 2026 Professional Scholarship finalists recognized by the Nantucket Golf Club Foundation. These scholarships help Nantucket students take the next step in career-focused education and training and several finalists are pursuing healthcare paths like nursing, pharmacy, radiology, and pre-med.

We’re especially proud that many students credit Nantucket Cottage Hospital’s School to Career program as an inspiration to return to the island and serve our community after graduation.
