Fourth grader Gerard found this tired Monarch butterfly on the playground and decided it needed a safe place to rest and regain its strength before being released over the weekend.

Safe travels, little friend! 🦋🇲🇽

🎃 Thank you ghosts and ghouls 🎃

Last night Halloween Party was more than we could ever hope for! We loved seeing everyone in their costumes, joining together in community for an evening of bouncy houses, Halloween themed games, prize raffles, and an outdoor trail.

A huge thank you to Nantucket Fun for the inflatables that kept everyone jumping around, Margie Malone for spending hours putting together the outdoor trail, and Nantucket Firefighters for bringing all the candy 🍬

We’re already looking forward to next year. 🖤

🍂 Thank you, Nantucket! ❤️
Over the weekend, more than 300 Club families, friends, and neighbors came together for our annual Community Fall BBQ, filling the evening with laughter, fun, and so many happy faces! From games and crafts to face painting, balloon art, inflatables, and delicious food, there was something for everyone to enjoy.

Even more special than all the fun was seeing our community come together. These are the moments that make the Club such a special place, and we’re so grateful to everyone who joined us! 💛

A heartfelt thank you to our incredible Presenting Sponsor, Cape Cod 5, for making this evening possible, and to Island Kitchen for keeping everyone well-fed! We’re also so thankful for the generosity and support of Stop & Shop, Nantucket Balloons Estefany Head, Nantucket Fun, Island Lumber Company, Bartlett’s Ocean View Farm, and Nantucket Party Rentals 🧡

It truly takes a community, and we’re so lucky to have ours. 🍂

The end of a cherry tree era. 🌸

After 11 years of framing the NBGC entrance, we’re saying goodbye to our sister cherry trees.

Gifted to the Club by trustee Emeritus John Loose during our 2015 renovation, the trees have been a signature part of the NBGC. However, despite visits from the cherry tree doctor, they never quite flourish in this location and eventually began obscuring or sign invisibility from the street.

Their removal is one of the first visible steps in our Safety, Security, and Clubhouse Renewal Project, making way for a redesigned front entrance and other clubhouse improvements.

We know things look a little different without them, but we’re grateful for the 11 years they spent out front and excited for what’s taking root next. 🌱

October 1 means Club Jr. is fully embracing the fall season 🍂

From letter-sound correspondence, to number recognition, and dramatic play at the Apple market (picking, sorting, and “purchasing” their favorites), the Club Jr. curriculum weaves real academic skills into every moment of play.

The cherry on top? Our preschoolers even made their own apple pies. 🍎🥧

Big news for the NBGC! 📣👏

We’re excited to share that the Nantucket Boys & Girls Club has been awarded $765,180 in state funding to strengthen our building’s energy resilience. This investment ensures the NBGC can remain a reliable resource to Nantucket’s children, families, and the broader community.

Thank you to Lauren Sinatra, whose guidance was instrumental in making this project possible.

Thank you to the Nantucket Island Chamber of Commerce for presenting the Nantucket Boys & Girls Club with the 2026 Achievement of Merit Award, recognizing “outstanding and consistent commitment to responsible business practices and/or community service.”

Determined by popular vote, this award is particularly important to us. The NBGC’s mission revolves around serving our community and this community has always shown up for the Club in return.

Thank you for your votes. Thank you for your support.
