The Maryland Food Bank will be at the Nanjemoy Senior and Community Center (4375 Port To***co Road, Nanjemoy, MD 20662) this Wednesday, June 17th from 12-2pm.

Get your Raffle tickets for the 2 great raffles we have. Tickets are $1.00 each or 6 for $5.00, they will be available for purchase the day/evening of the Fried Chicken Dinner, or from any Auxiliary member. The drawing will take place that night also. There will be 2 winners. Each winner gets a bag full of goodies any Father would love to have, and the bag is an awesome gift by itself!

We always pray that our first responders make it home safely to their families every night, today and all year long.

Dear Lord,
As a new month begins,
cover the families who serve behind the scenes.

Be near to the firefighter heading out the door,
the medic carrying heavy things no one can see,
the dispatcher holding calm in chaos,
the officer staying alert long after exhaustion sets in.

And Lord, hold close the ones waiting at home too.

Strengthen the spouses who carry extra weight.
Give patience to tired parents.
Bring comfort to children missing someone at the table tonight.

When schedules shift, plans fall apart,
and the stress feels louder than the peace,
remind these families that You are still steady.

Protect the homes that sacrifice quietly.
Restore what burnout tries to steal.
Make room for laughter again.
For slow mornings.
For safe arrivals.
For connection in the middle of busy lives.

Let June be filled with moments of rest,
unexpected joy,
and reminders that none of this service goes unseen by You.

And for every first responder walking into hard places this month—
go before them, stand beside them,
and bring them safely home.

The Charles County Department of Health is reminding our residents and businesses that the Maryland Department of the Environment open burning prohibition is in effect annually between June 1 and August 31. The prohibition does not affect backyard barbeque grilling or open fires for recreational purposes, such as small campfires. Click the following link for more information:
