Many of you have been asking me the big question: “When is The Rose opening?” Well, now I have an answer! 🎉 The Rose Gaming Resort is officially opening on Thursday, November 7 at 1 PM, and you’re invited to the Grand Opening Celebration!

We’ll kick things off with a ribbon-cutting ceremony, and the excitement doesn’t stop there. Explore our state-of-the-art gaming floor with 1,650 games, savor delicious meals at our new restaurants, and unwind at our vibrant sports bar. Saturday night, something truly special happened, and it gave me goosebumps. Mrs. Virginia Ali, the 91-year-old co-founder of the legendary Ben’s Chili Bowl, personally told me she chose to drive to Dumfries to celebrate with us at the Community Awards Ceremony—instead of attending Howard University’s 100th Homecoming Anniversary events.

To say I was honored would be an understatement. For those who don’t know, Mrs. Ali and her late husband Ben opened Ben’s Chili Bowl in 1958. Over the years, it became a cultural landmark in D.C., serving everyone from civil rights leaders to presidents. The restaurant stood strong through the civil rights movement and has remained a beacon of the Black community’s resilience and pride.

To think that this living legend chose to spend her evening with us left me feeling incredibly humbled and reflective. I can only thank God for His favor in bringing such a monumental figure to our community. Mrs. Ali, your legacy, grace, and presence mean more to us than words can express.
