In 2020, she made a $1 million donation to Vanderbilt University Medical Center to support research for a Covid vaccine and treatment. This funding supported early-stage research that led to the COVID-19 vaccine developed by Moderna. The iconic country music superstar and actress who was known for her philanthropy. We wanted to share a quick update ahead of today’s Fourth Friday Luncheon at the Fredonia Hotel. Our Program Director, Toni Bush, will be attending on behalf of Community RX Help. During the event, she plans to speak with candidates from both parties about an issue that has been affecting many of the people we serve — some insurance companies are refusing to provide the official letters that patients need in order to access certain programs and assistance. Her goal is to raise awareness, encourage dialogue, and help candidates understand how these delays and refusals impact real families in our community.

Community RX Help just learned that the Medicare Part D Premium Stabilization Demonstration ends after 2026. This temporary subsidy was created in 2025 to prevent sharp premium spikes. This primarily impacts stand‑alone Part D (PDP) enrollees—not Medicare Advantage drug plans. This means in 2027 most people should see premium increases under $10. Final 2027 premiums will be released in September. We recommend that you review your plan carefully this fall—premiums, drug coverage, pharmacy networks, and total annual costs matter more than ever.
