Last week, NACLEF received a community grant from the Nacogdoches Junior Forum in the amount of $2,284!

These funds will go toward printing additional “WHO KEEPS NAC SAFE?” coloring books, which our officers distribute to children throughout the community. A portion will also support the purchase of additional medical supplies to build more anchor bags for mass casualty/active shooter response.

This marks the third consecutive year that NACLEF has been honored to receive a community grant from NJF. We deeply value this continued partnership and the strong relationship we’ve built with such a wonderful organization.

The Nacogdoches Junior Forum raises these funds through their annual Nacogdoches Junior Forum Holiday in the Pines event, and we are truly grateful for their ongoing support of local law enforcement and the work our officers do every day.

Thank you, NJF!

For everyone asking about the 400-pound alligator...

Yes, the behemoth was safely relocated.

No, he was not released near a neighborhood, school, church, park, or anyone's backyard.

Our local Game Warden, Travis Fountain, relocated this East Texas dinosaur to a suitable habitat in a remote area of East Nacogdoches County where he can enjoy life doing alligator things and where residents don't have to worry about finding him on their morning walk.

The relocation site was carefully selected to provide an appropriate habitat for the alligator while keeping him well away from populated areas.

Thank you to everyone who checked in, and a special thanks to our Texas Game Wardens and Central Heights-Appleby VFD for helping ensure a safe outcome for both the public and one very large gator.

UPDATE: The 11 ft. 8 in. 400 lb. gator has been safely relocated to eastern Nacogdoches County.

Welp... didn't see this on our BINGO card this year! 🤣

Awesome job, Texas Game Wardens Travis Fountain of Nacogdoches, for clearing away a MASSIVE 11-foot alligator from a basketball practice event at Pleasant Hill Missionary Baptist Church!

Looks like we'll be in the market for a new pole! 🤣 🐊

More media in the comments.

Special thanks to Central Heights-Appleby VFD for their prompt response and assistance!

On December 14, 2025, a call for help was received for an 18-month-old child suffering from severe respiratory distress and struggling to breathe.

Sergeant Jeremy Pope and Deputy Alec Eichler with the Nacogdoches County Sheriff's Office responded within seven minutes. Due to the location of the emergency and the child's rapidly deteriorating condition, the officers made the quick decision to transport the child directly to Nacogdoches Memorial Hospital.

The child received emergency medical treatment and was later transferred to Texas Children's Hospital in Houston for specialized care. According to the attending physician, the officers' quick actions likely saved the child's life.

Last week, in recognition of their extraordinary efforts, Nacogdoches County Judge Greg Sowell and the Nacogdoches County Commissioners Court presented Sergeant Jeremy Pope and Deputy Alec Eichler with a Lifesaving Award.

Please join us in congratulating these outstanding officers on this well-deserved recognition!

CAUGHT IN THE ACT!

Not every good deed gets photographed.

Just wanted to give a big shoutout to Officer David Silva with the Nacogdoches Police Department for hopping out of his patrol car and assisting an elderly lady in a pink dress who was using a walker while walking down North Street.

Officer Silva took a moment out of his busy, hot day to ensure she made it safely down the street. It was a simple act of kindness, but one that reflects compassion and service.

Thank you, Officer Silva, for taking the time to help someone in need and for doing the right thing. Keep up the great work!

Today, we were honored to provide 11 IFAKs to officers with Nacogdoches Police Department!

As many of you know, NPD has experienced a significant influx of new officers over the past year — which is great news for our community. With that growth comes an increased need for equipment and training, and we are incredibly thankful for a community that continues to support NACLEF and makes these efforts possible.

These 11 officers will soon attend Patrol Medical courses this summer, where they will receive training on how to use this life-saving equipment. We pray these supplies are never needed, but the reality is that they are used far more often than most people realize.

Since the inception of the Patrol Medical program, more than 20 lives have been saved by peace officers right here in Nacogdoches County because of the training and equipment provided.

Thank you again for standing behind local law enforcement and helping us continue this mission. 👊

On this day, 30 years ago, Sergeant Tom Anderson Sitton with the Nacogdoches County Sheriff's Office was killed in the line of duty while serving a warrant involving terrorist activities.

Even three decades after his death, the Nacogdoches community has never forgotten the sacrifice Tom made. Tom was only 33 years old at the time of his death and left behind his wife, Treasa, and his two daughters, Amanda and Ashley.

The loss of a loved one sends ripples throughout an entire family, but it also serves as a stark reminder of the grave risks our officers take each and every day.

Please keep the Sitton family in your prayers today. Lift up our officers, along with their spouses and children. It is a dark world, and we are incredibly grateful for their service and sacrifice to our community.

May we never forget Sergeant Sitton’s sacrifice.
