We made a stop out at The Village Nac to present them with a donation that will help them with the projects they have coming up! We’re amazed by what they’ve accomplished in the last six years.

The Village Nac is a faith-based community in East Texas where people who have chronic mental health issues or chronic homelessness can find housing, help, hope, and healing.

You can see more of their great work at their website: https://thevillagenac.com/

Our 2025-2026 year is coming to a close! As we work on preparing for the changing of officers, budgets, and ideas for the next year, our club as had the chance to connect, refresh, and reflect on our accomplishments. Time flies by so quickly that sometimes it’s hard to process what you’ve done and recognize the impact of it. We are not the biggest club. So seeing the amount that we accomplish together encourages and uplifts us. Please check out our year end review, and if it interests you, please consider reaching out to us about joining one of our meetings or events! We definitely hope to grow so we can spread the message of Pilot International by doing more, caring more, and being more!

Please also enjoy The Starfish Story that was shared with us Texas District Pilots at District Convention this year. It was chosen by our outgoing President, Janet, as a reminder that even if you’re only able to help a few and even if it feels small, the impact is larger than you know!

Last night we had a huge first for our club! We were able to present two $1000 scholarships to Avery Hardcastle and Bridget Autrey their outstanding academic achievements and choice of major. Avery is going into Nursing and Bridget is going to Public Health. We hope that this will be of help to them on their education path, and we can’t wait to see how they will apply their education to helping the world!

A big thank you to Melanie Theiss for helping our club start this process and seeing it through. This is our first step into scholarships, but it won’t be our last. Our fundraising efforts have put us into this position, and we’re coming up with more plans to be able to take our reach further!
If you’re interested in taking part with the club, reach out to us! We’d love to have more members to get to know, work with, and further our mission of friendship and service!

Always fun supporting our community events!

Big shoutout to Harbor Hospice for always being such a huge supporter of our community events and activities 💜✨

Jackie with Harbor Hospice generously donated a door prize for our Cinco De Mayo celebration and is pictured here with Elizabeth from the Pilots Club, who was also in attendance helping with the festivities 🌮🎉🍹

Thank you both so much for your support, kindness, and dedication to our community 💛

What a weekend! What a convention! Seven of our members headed off to Baytown to take part in meeting, learning, listening, and celebrating this year that has flown by for Texas District Pilots!

We got to meet with our ERC Karen Ferguson-Bain! She shared important knowledge with us all, and gave us encouragement that all the clubs will certainly put to use going forward.

Our own founding member and past president Jackie Briley Thornton won the election to be one of the two Lt. Governors! We know she’ll do an incredible job helping the district administrative committee as she’s always been a great leader to our club! Congratulations!

We got to witness the yearly changing of the governors! We’ll finish the year cruising with 2025-2026 Texas District Governor Julie Fallin and go into next year with friendship and service following Joanne Patterson as the 2026-2027 Texas District Governor.
Our own Annette Saenz Montemayor and Linda Ivy will serve as co-chairmen on the Elections committee and Andrea Jo Clark will serve as co-Registration chairman beginning July 1 for our new year!

We ended Friday night with the magic of Jamie Salinas, and closed the celebrations with a performance from Elvis himself Vince King who got the ladies on the dance floor, even if it was from a corner of the room!

We really couldn’t ask for a better district to be a part of our friends that have been made at the district convention over the years! The only thing that could make it better is if you joined us! ❤️

On Wednesday our member Connie met with Tambra L Branton to deliver a pick me up! Pick me ups are a way for Pilot clubs to deliver a special gift to survivors and caregivers in the community to let them know they are seen and that we care for them as much as they care for others.

This past Sunday we worked at The Helping House Family Kite Fest. The day may have been overcast but it was busy all day long! The kites were a sight to see once they started taking over the sky. Time flies by when helping with the trackless train because the kids have such a great time. We even got to enjoy some of the new attractions for ourselves, and try the delicious food and treats brought out by our local vendors! Congratulations on a successful day The Helping House!

Boy are we worn out! Our Bike Safety Event went off without a hitch, and we’re so incredibly thankful to our attendees and our support! We basically doubled our numbers this year to 52 kids attending, and we can’t wait to grow that number next year. Huge thank yous to the Texas Department of Transportation, Diamond C BBQ & Catering and Common Energy (Keith Clark and Wade Collins), Texas Department of Public Safety State Troopers, UTS Police Department at SFA, Nacogdoches Fire & Rescue, Whataburger, Harbor Hospice, and the Christian Motorcycle Association for supporting the event and bringing your knowledge and care to the kids!
