SAFETY SPOTLIGHT

Since March 2021, Trinity Health Muskegon, in partnership with Tommy Davis Memorial Fund and the @ Michigan Department of Health and Human Services Muskegon Office, has distributed 2,558 home safety devices to families across our community.

Many childhood injuries occur in and around the home, but simple safety devices can make a big difference. Through this partnership, families have access to resources that help create safer home environments and reduce the risk of preventable injuries.

As part of our Stars, Stripes & Safety: 250 Safety Wins for America's 250th campaign, we'll be highlighting the programs, partnerships, and people helping protect West Michigan families every day.

On June 5, we will join communities across the country in recognizing National Gun Violence Awareness Day by wearing orange.

Keeping our communities safe starts with open, respectful conversations. Talking with your family about firearm safety, such as safe and secure storage, can help prevent accidents and protect children and teens. At Trinity Health Michigan, we’re committed to supporting these meaningful conversations as part of our ongoing dedication to safety and prevention.

Know Before You Go: Pool Safety and Vacation Rentals

With this shift, the Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) urges families to consider these important safety recommendations when looking to rent homes that include pools. Today, we recognize National Trauma Survivors Day—a time to honor the strength, resilience, and courage of those who have experienced trauma.

In partnership with the Trauma Survivors Network, this day reminds us that recovery is not just possible—it is happening every day. Survivors inspire us with their perseverance and their journeys forward.

We also recognize the families, caregivers, and professionals who walk alongside survivors, offering support and hope.

Today, we honor trauma survivors and the strength it takes to heal, rebuild, and thrive.
